the warm green create movement
in this one.

hi! great pics from everyone. I especially like the ones from pat, cos, oblagon, sporq, dem, okkun and palladia mors.

my entry. it took me about 15 min. made with reference but as the refence was playing tekken, shouting and fidgeting, it was not too helpful

palladia, that picture looks pretty good. The woman blends into the background a little too much i think. Oblagon's paintings do that too but they have this stylish watermark feel to them that is apparently intentional.

These paintings all look great. Speed painting is even more fun than green-monkey painting IMO.

Hey spooge demon - was that done on a computer or is it traditional? It looks traditional to me, but I could never tell.

I just joined last week, I know you guy were having some sort of painting class with matte cubes and stuff. Are you guys starting another one soon or still in the middle of it? I'd love to join.

Binke, yeah I was gonna say that too. But I don't really know whether I am still on track (I try to stay on the right track though). I guess the title is kind of confusing. And I guess this thread has also turned into a convenient place to drop stuff that's nice but doesn't warant a thread of it's own.

spooge, did we perform that bad at the cubes exercise ? Oh well I guess I was still a Photoshop novice at that time (I think I actually used Photo Impact for the first version ) but now I kind of got accustomed to it
Anyways if you'd find the time to continue the cubes or do some other lessons, I guess that would be good

I wish I had more time to paint these days. So I could add something here. Oh well at least I'm having a life drawing class this evening. Was too long since the last one.

nova: that looks nice. did u use reference?

hmmm...am I on the right track here?`
I've done all of my paintings in under an hour, most of them in 20 minutes or so.
but that's not it. wasn't this thread originally about defining the form etc.?
anyway, I've pursued to paint things more easily -faster- and to get better at defining the essential form of the subject.
more or less succeedingly... oh, well

Sweet picture Palladia, yes - I used a photo for mine. Both of my last ones are from a book called "journey through Borneo".

This one is too...

25min

Oh spooge, where did your painting go? Did you take it down?
I actually thought it's great you still do oil painting, I can't stand the turpentine and get uncomfortable without the "undo" button...

palladia mors - Wow, I love the one with the tree! I didn't have my glasses earlier, I thought it was real. Your choice of color is really good.

Yes, the original idea is really about putting down the basic values and forms before getting into details.. like you said Palladia.
