Here is something I just finished.
Its my interpretation of Star Wars EP3. In the image, Darth Vader is actually the actor that plays Anakin in EP2. The background concept was taken from one of the images of a star wars site.
Conceptually I tried to design a mask of Darth Vader where you can still tell that Anakin is still young. I brainstormed different ideas, and even wanted to paint Anakin with long hair, but decided to go with the scorched bald look, like it's meant to be.
I have also developed a temp wepbage with a small number of my other works. http://www.waterbrush.com
Advice, critique more then welcome.
Cheers

Dom from insideCG? Cool!
Nice pic! Actually reminds me of Darth in ROTJ where Luke takes off his mask.
My only crit would be to watch the lighting on Anakin compared to the rest of the scene. He looks a bit too much like an overlay and perhaps lacks a bit of depth.
Nice!

Awetopsy: Thanks. Yeah I am still exploring digital painting, and I tend to over-render things like crazy. I sometimes have a hard time committing to the strokes I make, at least digitally.
ceenda: Yeap, that's me Thanks
Yeah the problem with this one is, I decided to change the background in the middle of the painting stage. Now that you mention it, the two types of lights don't seem to create a very believable atmosphere. Thanks very much for the input. I may play around with the lights a bit more.

well my opinion is that the fabric it looks a little over-worked. too many strokes and not following the direction of the fabric.
I really like the subject matter (of course star wars) and I think you handled anakin very well and I love the mask. great stuff.
