Roundeye: thanks so much--glad you liked the boobies, they were really fun to do
Burnout: you like the boobies too then I guess? Excellent!
Anthony: thanks-yes, the colour came out quite nice. Now if only I could paint it with out doing so much blasted colour correction...
Lunatique: thanks for the support! I don't recal seeing your name in any of the classes though. Do you use another alias, or do you just lurk?
Leroy: I'm all flushed, but I don't think I can accept a proposal so early in the season.
Seethemd: ridiculously perky=good then?
-Hoodz-:totally agree
Pixelsoldier:that's really nice of you to say. Don't know about the 'unmatched' bit, but it's a great compliment--thanks!
Hawkone/Flat: Cool--and he's definately drooling (I hope)!
Tepox: Thank YOU my friend
J.Tsang: Hmm...yes I see what you mean: wasted space.
Leroy: Only at Sijun can you be called a dog(g) and be happy about it--thanks!
Thanks all!!! |

I've only done one a while ago, and since then I just lurk.
I've got too many unfinished paintings as it is, so little fun tings like that are out of question for now. |

The lighting's real nice, and love the loose style, it's something I'm trying to develop for myself.

Lunatique: ahhh...I see. Lot's of unfinished paintings--sounds very familiar
Monkey Pirate: thanks--the pic was done totally in Photoshop.
Mannela: thanks for the compliment! I've been painting traditionally (mostly watercolour and liquitex) since I was about 16, but first starting working digitally with Photoshop around '94. But I only started really 'painting' with the tool last early last year. The image took about 3 hours all up. Thanks for the interest!
taltin: more than a handful is a waste?
Unit: thanks--I agree that loose is good. How are you progressing? And don't think I'm gonna let you off the hook with you're offer to review Red Giant
Britney: thanks for coming out of the shadows to drop a (lovely) comment. Why don't you stay for a while?
Anjin3515:
TMP: You = my friend.
Zorglub: No, totally Photoshop. I worked quite opaquely on this one, so maybe that's what mislead you? |

ACK!
I don't wanna be the bad guy with the only real critique, dammit.
I love this piece, the colour is amazing and the depth and feeling just screams right through it. Love it I tells ya...Love it...
And then there's the forearm...
Okay, the angle of her body is great, which (given the depth) should mean that her forearm (on our right) should be behind her, slightly angled towards the viewer so that her hand rests on her bottom. Seems about right. The problem comes in with the foreshortening and the angle of the radius and ulna. Her arm is almost "curved" at the bone. Especially with the angle of her arm, the curving should smooth out more flatly as it approaches the wrist, not continue.
Is that making sense?
The foreshortening issue that I mentioned has to do with that approach to the wrist as well. If the thickening continued, I'd hate to see how big her hands are...might not be more than a handful at all
The lighting seems to suggest that the wrist is thinner than the thickness of the arm suggests, so I'm guessing that it was just a minor oversight, or I'm going blind from looking at the great specular lighting on this.
I hated finding even that tiny bit to bitch about, because I truly love the looseness and yet incredible light and colour of this.
And yeah..perky...very perky.
