All the characters and mecha in this picture are straight from the show Escaflowne. I did not trace, nor copy any image to create the end result. A reference pose for the Escaflowne was needed though. The coloring and poses were completely made up! ENJOY!

you sure about the "completely off the top of your head"? Completely created by your? Sorry if this is rude, but I knew I saw a pic a lot like it before, and if you're gonna copy or use reference that much, give credit. Especially when you're saying it's completely created by just your brain.

EEP! Sorry I guess I forgot to mention I had a facial refernce for Van, I drew that a year ago! Hmm, I don't recall copying his bangs to that detail but I guess I'm a lying basty! SORRY!

When I said I didn't copy nor trace, that's exactly what I meant. I did not mean I didn't use reference pictures for the other characters, as I do not have them memorized. I guess I should have been more specific. Nice observation!

I am not trying to make it sound like I didn't copy some of the facial features ( because I obviously did ) but there is some rhyme to the reason. I am also not trying to defend nor deny just posting my thoughts on prolly what I was thinking at the time.

The whole facial expression in particular, at its base is nearly exact, but it is drawn in a different form of the Japanese art style.

I dunno bout the ear lobes, if you look at my other pictures that's the way I usually draw em.

I always put the "old eye" whenever an intense situation is depected as most traditional anime do. But yes it is in the original picture.

In the recent updates in the Japanese art style defined "teeth lines" are usually placed at the corners of the mouth to give it a better sense of depth and demi-realism. As defining all the teeth looks bizarre. That's a technique more so than a single picture that features it. But in this case, yes, its there...

Yup bangs, copyied em, sorry...

I altered the arm's perpective including the hand downward which basically is another pose in my own opinion. But yes it is very, very similar.

Yet again I altered the sword's perspective at a differnt angle in order to make it "seem" different. That is the way his sword looks though, nothing I can do about it.

I hope this clarifies any reason's as to how the picture was drawn. I don't know what I was thinking when I was doing the bangs, probably something along the lines of "theft". SORRY!

Again I am sorry for not mentioning Van's pose! AIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiii!!! *runs*
