OK, so I finally went out and got myself an anatomy book and studied it a bit, and after a bit of reading and the studying of a few drawings, came up with this:
I know it's not particularly good but I'd still like some feedbacks about how I did, especially in reference to anatomical correctness. I'm pretty sure some of arm muscles are off.
Which leads to my next question, I'm not quite sure about the placement of a part of a bone. The humerus (upper arm) has, on top, two..hm...thicker parts (don't know the english word, sorry), called tuberculum majus and minus, between which the bizeps muscle is like in a tunnel. Now, I studied some of the drawings, but I think I can't really find it on myself (I'm actually rather skinny too) If someone could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!! |

That connection you're looking for is probably too far underneath the deltoid to find.
I would worry more about bones right now; the ribgace is more egg-shaped than your drawing suggests. It's hard to learn the skeleton from books, but still work on it. |

It definately looks like you started studying anatomy.. Its still needs alot of work.. but keep at it.. you are really heading in the right direction.
study the basic shapes first.. study the ovals and boxes that make up the basic form of the body.. learn where they go and what their limitations are...
but really, you're doing great. keep at it. |

'Kay, a few things you may have overlooked when doing your illustration:
- A man's forearm and upperarm meet on the same horizon line as the elbow. in other words, the area where the elbow is should line up with his "belly button area". Women however have theirs fall slightly above the "belly button/waist" area, ironically enough, in the same position where your guy's arms are.
- Often the distance from the chin to the top of the head is equidistant to that of the distance between the nipples + 1/3 or 1/4. Your character's head is a bit too small for his frame.
There's more, but i have to get back to work, I hope this helps for now though.

Somewhere (don't remember exactly where) on the Internet you can find and download for free Loomis' book about drawing the human figure.
It's really good one. In most cases much better that ones you can buy in printed form. |

the man's posture is really weird in the pic (plus the thumb should go on the back side of the hip), the neck seems twisted, the hand is way too much out, his right (our left) hand is rotated to death, etc. Keep in mind - you may learn anatomy but you MUST do some life drawing to get the peoples' movements, standing poses, everything. No other way. (I'm doing that myself right now)
i've been studying anatomy too, but left it a bit for the past month because of the school... forgot some of the stuff anyway, maybe this helps?
freddio's repaint is very good, it's just the lower arm that bugs me a bit... |

....
...the lower arms look off because they're still not alligned correctly with the horizon line on the navel. In short, the elbow should extend "lower" than the rib cage; it should line up with the wasit (on male bodies). Here's a little exercise for the guys out there, rest both of your arms at your sides. Then, using one hand trace an imaginary line from the opposite arm's elbow joint area over and towards your torso. You'll see that it usually lines right up with the belly button. On women, as stated before, it's a bit higher than that (between 1/5 and 1/3 of head length).
