Post your vehicle designs!

I'm sure I'm not the only one that dreams of doing this for a living.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......etc etc etc

FUCK YOU AND YOUR MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.........sorry......im just so upset........
(assuming that that concept design is the same as what i was thinking)

well first off if that is a "wheel" type vehicle.......you know something that is one wheel and drives really fast type thing.....well then i have had the same exact idea for a couple years now...its just that im not good at drawing(i cant get dimensions very well, so everything looks wrong when i draw things...)

also if thats not what yours is then tell me and pretend you didnt hear the above.......lol

anyhoo.....my idea was of a vehicle that is a wheel(prefrebly one of those sweet motorcycle wheels...erm you know the speed bikes........umm the racing bikes.....) but mmine would be much more massive than what your drawing is......in my estimate.....it would be about.............20 to 30 feet high.......lol......and it would go from(or could anyways) 1 to 5000 in 5 seconds.........altho that would probably rip everything apart on the vehicle....lol....oh well this is MY imagination......lol....anyhoo.....i dont have a name for what i would call mine...so dont ask.............i can imagine it so perfectly in my head.....but when i go to draw it or model it......well lets just say.....it sucks...lol........

Thudwil: With regards to the steering, if you look closely on the right side attached to the door is a little thruster. There's one on both sides but you can't see the other one. These are what's used for turning. If the vehicle turns left then the left thruster throws a charge bursting forward and the right thruster throws a charge bursting backwards giving this vehicle the best turning radius possible(ZERO). Also if you notice, on the thruster there's a thruster pointing downwards. These are used for stability incase the vehicle runs over a rock or something. That way it doesn't tilt over. The cool thing about this turning technique is that it can turn without needing to move forward. It could turn 360 degrees and be completely still.

Geteva: Sorry I had the same conceptual idea as you did. It wasn't meant to be a racing vehicle though. Just a one passanger commuter vehicle of the future.

@kamal: not to be anal or anything, but if the thrusters were meant to be stabilizers, shouldn't it be pointing upwards? same principle as a spoiler, really...

anyways, nice rendering on that...

[edit] actually, i looked at it a little more closely, and spotted something... i might be wrong, butt he perspective on the inner track of the "tire" looks a little goofy... specifically, it almost looks like the radius of the inner track tapers off as it goes out from the front center portion... i hope that explanation is clear enough... [/edit]

Not to be funny - and ill probably get linched for saying this but i must agree with JD Leon that its very small minded to say that anyone here woud be the first to think of an idea like that let alone execute it as it should and yes ( the East - and other people ) have been doing such things for eons ( here's the lynching part ) I do find that Americans in general live a very isolated lifestyle - yes this is a genrelisation but there arent allot of things is see that really challenge that idea. All in all that has nothing to do with thae art work wich is OK ... / oh one more thing swearing on a forum real bright what a way to get your point across - the mind boggles, grow up - and if your going to post either artwork or an opinion that strong, make shure you know what you are talking about - read some books and get out of your house. ( ahhh lynch me ) lol

LoteKK:

The turning thrusters have the stabalizer thrusters right in the middle and they're pointing downwards. Can you see them now?

No, it's not a perspective problem, they're supposed to be tappered.

Toast, you're an idiot. All your posts are negative.

Show us some of your work. I'd be happy to critique it. I'm assuming by your whopping 1-star rating that you're a natural!

pixelsoldier: glad you took the time to call Toast an idiot, i couldn't agree more i had written a very negative response to his moronic babbling, but deleted it. i think this thread is really great. maybe it won't get ruined with a bunch of crap.

mr. robertson: very cool work! great ideas, and very well drawn. i want one of those ski transports.

yup, i see the stabilizing thrusters, but what i meant was that if they were meant to stabilize the vehicle, they should be pointing up, in order to provide some downforce in the event of hitting a large rock or something, much in the same way that spoilers on race/sports cars provide downforce...

gotcha... cool stuff...

@scott: your work has always astounded me... this is no exception...

@NeFF: can you say "GDI"? cool stuff, but the tail boom seems bent out of alignment with the main body... slap me if this is supposed to be, though...

@monolith: i want one of those for my birthday...

i'll see if i can post something...

nice bike.

vehicles are fun, but this is actually not my concept.. Anyone who's played metal slug will recognize this. Was a pain to translate from 320x240 2d imagery.

LoTek, yeah you're probably right about the thrusters pointing upwards. Thanks for the tip.

SDS8373, LOVE THE TANK! How did you light it?

And theres the lynching i was not dissing the work it was a statement that i had said wouldnt go down well and it hasnt - the work is good its the aproach to the concept and the following replys that i disagreed with its an oppinion , and thats all ( and about the rating lets be real here if your willing to judge work you havent seen buy a rating well ...... ) anyhow the work is good all of it, but that was never the issue - guess in future ill keep my opinions to myself.

Im working currently on this hover for a game. The texture is not finished yet, hmm there is no texture yet. The model has about 500 polygons.

In reply to the top one, the big wheel thingy, how the hell does it stop when its going at high speed? if you put the brakes on, wouldn't the whole thing just roll forward anyway?

That 3d rendered similar one had an idea going with the 2 tire things, then you could turn by turning them different directions, or one slower than the other.

This shit is seriously cool though

Quick Addition: That metal slug tank, holy shit that was my favourite tank ever, and you've recreated it perfectly. I recognised it straight away. Good job

i believe the centre part, the cockpit/cab is a free balancing disc on the outer rim chassis, with a weight or whatever holding it down. in where i live, taxis and cabs have these advertisement disc things on their wheels, and the balance and stay put as the vehicle moves/brakes
