Hello... finished this drawing for my gf(she likes giraffes) about 6 days ago. Gave the drawing to her as a gradutation gift and our 7-month anniversary.... anyways, here it is. Blah blah blah.

I'm sure she's pleased. Some thoughts; If you would let the paper do the cropping it would perhaps feel less like poor ol' giraffe is decapitated . Darks could be darker, what materials are you using? Placement of signature perhaps a bit distractive. Outline/contour can be made a bit heavier in places. More of a stylistic choice, though. |

Hello. The cropping thing makes sense, edited the scanned drawing in photoshop and it looks much better cropped, I agree. As for the darks, on paper it's as black as I could get it, so probably a scanner thing. I used a mechanical pencil and a 9" by 12" sketch pad. As for the signature, you're probably right, does distract from the drawing, I should stop doing that =\. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.
