This is Dugie, the Captain of the Elven Royal Guard.
Drawn in pencil, the background was done using a papyrus tutorial by Marcelo Souza at Thiswebsite.
Really, I just had this great pencil sketch and wanted to try that papyrus tutorial.
Turned out pretty good, eh?

Hehe...I'll look..and I like what I see..it's nice .
One thing..the Paper is killing the illustration, could have done with being a little lighter maybe .

I think it's the white background that makes the sketch (which is actually quite nice) so hard to see. Values are relative, or so I've heard... swith to a dark bg, I think the papervalues are quite appropriate.

it's nice but i'm having trouble telling if it's a she or a he I think it's a she (she's got breasts?), but her face looks very much like a male's face. Women have round faces (even if they're elven), they have fat on the cheeks etc which make the face look soft. Whils she's got very hard forms on the face, especially the jaw and the cheekbones give me the implication of a male instead of a female. the nose is also adding to that, although I don't really see what's wrong with it.
Her torso looks a tad bit too long, but it might be just the belts going so low that are distracting me. The drawing looks nice though I wish it were a guy, he'd be gorgeous... Uh oh. Time for me to shut up, I guess. |

Thank you everyone!!!!
zak I noticed that too. Got any suggestions?
Torstein Nordstrand I think you are right. The darker background does make the pic stand out.
Asurfael It is a girl. My male elves look a lot more masculine than this. And I think you are right. Her torso is a bit long...hmmm....
I appreciate all of the comments! Thank you all. ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

the picture is good, and the paper is good, but they dont really work well together. you can see that the image is on a separate layer. other than that its good |
