thanks guys, glad you like it.
Chris, I'm using dreamweaver and it won't show the resizing code for the frames. This is a bit frustrating. Can anyone tell me how to fix the problem Icannon pointed out if I'm using dreamweaver?

Hey, I have an idea! How about you take some time to respond to the 27 replies in your last thread, Isric?

You don't show your face for months and months, but are conveniently around to chime in with your opinion on flamers, etc. You're one of the first to say that Sijun is full of flamers/newbies/whatever.. and to criticize people for acting immature, but you don't offer anything to help fix the situation.

Then after months of not saying a word (except for the odd occasion where you tell someone how to act), you decide that you've "missed" Sijun oh-so-much. But really, you just have a new image to share and want to inflate your ego some more with the endless string of compliments people offer you, for which you can't even take the time to say "thank you" for.

Maybe some haze/fog in there would perhaps make it a little more mystical. I dunno. Nice though. Damn I'm tired. *thud*

Lemme see if I can bring myself down to your level..

Creed shut the hell up before i send you STD's in the mail. Grow up.
If you don't know Isric than you shouldn't be voicing your baby whines at him.

and Isric: Beautiful piece, The bird really brings it together spirtialy. I agree that the piece seems alittle TOO crisp, adding some atmospheric perspective behind the figure would help some, yet could hurt the bird/man so maybing playing with focus and blur could work?

Who said I don't know Isric, Davi?

And you shut the hell up. I'll voice my opinions whenever I fuckin' want.

Go back to shading your kiddie drawings with skillful diagonal lines because you have no idea how to define form with by any other means.

No wonder you get your panties in such a bunch when I say bad things about Matt. You probably have a shrine to him in your room.

That's a great illustration, Matt :) I love the lush colors and sense of depth you were able to achieve. It's so sketchy that it's almost abstract, but it pulls together very well and really creates the impression of a dense, overgrown forest. Your website looks pretty slick, too! :) I'll be sure to check back frequently to see what other stuff you put up.

Thanks for sharing your work with us! :)

I'd darken the lower right corner a little more. It pulls my eye off the guy in the clearing, which IMO should be the focal point of the image.

I hate you, Isric! Coolass piece! Coloration is shweet, so is the composition and so is the overall consistent abstraction.

Really like the hues you chose too - and the aerial perspective. How about some red and orange flowers in there - that should knock anyone's eyes out, haha ...

Creed: come on, be quiet N008! How about posting an image instead of making yourself look like a little jerk ... ? ? ?

How about it, newbie, how about it? Hahaha ... I'm sure this will prompt another stream of profanities, as it usually does with those trollies ...

nice job, awesome coloring, you have definitely changed your technique since the last time I saw it, although your use of bright lights and high contrast hasnt, I have no technical help to give with this, except it looks like you just used the lasso to draw this, other than that, you could add more... atmosphere literally, make the haze thicker,
and think about the lighting as it affects the plant life - if there are huge trees then they block the light, and the bottom vegitation is very sparse and brown,

but on the other hand, if there is lots of bottom vegitation then they choke up the resources for most large tres, and therefore get more light....

hope I helped

Hey matt that is pretty good. I could suggest to add more refined detail in the foreground.

oh yeah and the menu frame comes up way to small. Have to scoll to see what is in there.

bloody crap. i wrote a reply and it didnt make it through. so again..

the image looks sweet :] i like how the action with the bird\dude is so subtle.

also, i'm glad to see the site is up and running! one thing you might want to do is set the left frame to the pixel width of the menu image, and the right frame to a percentage (100% allowing the text to squish\stretch to ones browser size). as it lies right now, somebody with a small resolution might only be seeing half the menu.

Hey Loki! Another stuck up ass, who chimes in every so often to tell people what to do and how to act!
Why don't *YOU* post some work for a change, Mr. Elite Mattepainter? You're certainly right there to say "come on, stop flaming! this is the last thing this place needs!" .. or "that looks like an overpaint!" or... "I'm not trying to be mean, but you copied Dusso!".

Why don't you try and help a struggling artist out instead of just sittin' around eating Doritos, getting fat, and telling people what to be like?

I'll post something when YOU post something.

Hey Isric ! That painting's pretty cool altho I find the overlay on the right to take too much space. Just my 2c. Other than that it's pretty sweet ! I like the variety of greens and range of hues you used for this one.

Now about your webpage ; it's pretty clean and tidy ! Quite a change from your previous website (if memory serves me well). You probably have already received gazillions of mails telling you this but link 7 in B/W section isn't working. (Eh. free beta tester !)

Creed : Just out of curiosity, are you under NDA as well ?....... Pro working their asses off all know what I'm talking about.

Creed: I've personally never heard of Matt before in my life.

And i like how you bring my art up because it has nothing to do with the topic at all. And i'm pretty sure you haven't seen any art i've done in the past 5 months so you should go out and buy a huge slice of cancer cake and gnaw down. Thanks.

D'oh, I forgot to actually say something about your work.

I really like this piece. I like the absence of the lineart. You work very well with colour. You separate the values very successfully with colour alone, which takes a helluvalotta skill.

Oh, and that white bird (dove?) works very well as a focal point. Very elegantly done.

May I ask how long this took?

Wow, not quite the response I thought! Thanks to everyone for the compliments. It's really appreciated, as well as the helpful comments.

Now...as for Mr. Creed...

Did I say or do something to offend you? If so I appologize, because I've apparently done something extremely mean to deserve your comment. I'd really appreciate it if you'd tell me what's up, cause maybe we can clear this up? I don't like to have people running around trash talking if it can be avoided (like most people)
Hey, I have an idea! How about you take some time to respond to the 27 replies in your last thread, Isric?
haha, are you serious?! You're kinda jumping the gun here, don't ya think? It hasn't been up there too long now and I was thinking I'd let everyone have their say before I blabbed in. How's that work for you?

quote
Quote:
You don't show your face for months and months....

Well that's because I'm going to art school. I'm sorry for that too, but design class is a killer and doesn't give me any computer time. I hope you can forgive me for my absence. It hasen't been anything personal towards you or Sijun.

quote
Quote:
You're one of the first to say that Sijun is full of flamers/newbies/whatever.. and to criticize people for acting immature...

That's because I still like this place and don't want to see it go to hell (like some people here would remember it did once). If I can say something that'll make someone feel bad about being a dick (flamer), then I will. There's no room for immaturity on this forum, just like there's no room for activity in the illustration/design/art world. As for the newbie thing, I haven't actually said anything about newbies for about a year, and art school really changes a person, so could you give me some time to prove myself?

quote
Quote:
...but you don't offer anything to help fix the situation.

If there was a way to help keep annoying and whiney people quiet, I would offer my help to fix that situation. But there's not, not over the internet at least.

quote
Quote:
Then after months of not saying a word (except for the odd occasion where you tell someone how to act), you decide that you've "missed" Sijun oh-so-much.

Like I said, the 'not saying a word' is because of school, and I appologize again for hurting you so much because of it. And yes, being in art school gives me no computer time and I have missed being able to post here. I don't think it's too farfetched to beleive I miss my old forum?

quote
Quote:
...But really, you just have a new image to share and want to inflate your ego some more with the endless string of compliments people offer you...

Yes, I was able to make a new image. The first one in months actually. Do you know what it's like to return to the things you love to do? I'm really excited that I can paint again, its like coming back to paradise after a year in the desert. I wish I could explain how much being able to make pictures means to me, so that you could understand why it sucked to bad not to be able to do it for so so long. And as far as compliments, it is my incredible honor to recieve them. Every one of them I see as a huge deal. I'm only 19 years old, and I've been encouraged by so many total strangers it really seems to be way beyond my league. I still don't think I really deserve them. That's all great, but, I am not responsible for what people say to me, it's not my fault people like my work, and I'm sorry for that too.

quote
Quote:
...for which you can't even take the time to say "thank you" for.

again, time constraints. But if you'd give it some time instead of getting mad at me, you'll find that I don't like to speak until about a week later. It's just my style.
Sorry if you think I'm some jerkoff with a big fake smile and a tan suit, laughing away while I drink martini's and draw these pictures. Like I said, I'm just a 19 year old guy who lives in a dead end western Canadian town, aspiring to be a great illustrator.

With regards to your comments about other people:

quote
Quote:
Who said I don't know Isric, Davi?

I'll back Davi up on that one, I say you don't know me.

quote
Quote:
And you shut the hell up. I'll voice my opinions whenever I fuckin' want.

Not in my threads please.

quote
Quote:

Why are you being a jerk? Davi's work has nothing to do with this.

quote
Quote:
No wonder you get your panties in such a bunch when I say bad things about Matt. You probably have a shrine to him in your room.

That's the most elimentary-school-girl-jealousy comment I've every heard.

quote:

That's entirely unnecessary. Your making yourself look bad.

Quote:

How old are you? 13? 14?

This is the kind of stuff I speak out at on the forum, the immaturity, the people who get fired or their girlfriends break up with them and they lash out on the internet where they don't need the balls to back their mouths up.
Creed, I hope you can find some sense of peace. You're bringing this mess on yourself, and the sooner you realize that the better.

Nice work, man! I'm a little confused on the website, but others have addressed it already. The left frame is hard to see at 800x600 res. I'm terribly behind on browser technology, though -- running IE4 and NS4.7 and they tend not to process things correctly. However, I think they both support frames. Just a note.

I look forward to seeing your gallery when you get it uploaded.

A quick moderator note; take a deep breath and wind it back. You're trying to combat what you believe is people posting crap without realizing that you're posting the worst crap of all.

If you think there's a better way to be a forum member then you should at lease follow those guidelines yourself.

That's the last word on the matter on this forum. Use the personal messages if you've still got a problem.
