[Malachi Maloney]

Hey all.

I've just completed my first self portrait.
This piece was originally going to be nothing more than portfolio filler. But then I decided to do something different with it.
I achieved the odd head shape by stretching and distorting my sketch before I started painting.
Dynamic lighting and a solid composition were my goals with this piece. The smoke was an after thought, but I think it adds to the piece quite well.

Anyway, enough of me babbling, I'll let you folks see it and you can tell me what you think.

Man it's awesome i agree with Tyron on the smoke though, atleast bellow the portrait itsel, looks kinda 'forced in', not really part of the portrait..
