Hello!
I've been doing some of these lately..
All of them are done with pencils on A4 Xerox-paper(my favorite paper ..
I'm trying to gather some material for a
small exhibition held in a small cafe in Oslo next Wednesday..I have a couple of more at home so i guess i will use about 15-20 drawings all together.
The figure drawings are from the classes each Monday and the portraits are done from photos (Joachims Portrait is an exception, done from life)
Hope you like it
Crits welcome.

The first picture i fell in love with straight away ...
i dunno, but i've never seen a potrait done is such a fashion before .. so raw, so experimental.
then again, im not as open to the field of arts as others around here are, living in an art-deprived society as i do.
But i Loveeee it ...
And the nude male ... the last picture.
I've never seen joachim's face before, and even if i have i might have forgotten it.
But i seriously hope thats not him.
(in case it is ... You look great ! LOL) |

Beautiful. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Wow.
I love your use of line, and I love what you "leave out"! Fabulous. All of it. |

These are great. I think it is interesting to compare you against mullins.
It is very clear to me that you think in line and shape even when thinknig of mass. And mullins thinks in mass and color more then thinking about shape and line.
This is a really nice style. The only "critique" I have is more of suggestion in that I'd like to see larger and more detailed studies from you.
Look forward to seeing more. |

Yep, your line quality is simply unparalleled!
Looking at that first pic though, I'm wondering if you guys have been taking this Art thing a bit too seriously - Joachim looks like he's been boozing in a cheap whorehouse with Toulouse-Lautrec for two weeks and his expression is saying "one more glass of absinthe for the inspiration"

(there seems to be an echo in here, I wrote almost the same thing as Sedone without seeing his post )

Hey micke.
I really like the contrast between the looseness of the first piece, and the tighter look of the 2nd and 3rd pieces.
Also the expressions, whilst all three look deep in thought all seem to have differing emotions. The 1st looks stern and serious, the 2nd looks like he could be thinking of something funny and the 3rd looks troubled, deep in contemplation.
Good luck with the exhibit. |

Dude, these are nice. Love the clean lines. Takes a lot of confidence and experience to have that. |

micke, tight and clean as usual, great stuff. i could use some real model/figure practice, its been almost two years since I had a good model session! looks like you've still got it goin on, you definitely have a nice approach to forming volume and shade with simple line shading. |

Micke! You are back!
Your work is still as beautiful and contrasty as before. The lines are so simple but so effective!!! Amazing!
Have you been doing any more of those water colors?

Thanks everybody for the feedback!
Andromeda: He..The time spent on Joachims drawing did'nt do him any good. It has a couple of flaws like the width of the face
and the heavy crosshatching gives him a weird texture. Thanks.
AliasMoze: Glad to see you back!
Logans run? Have'nt seen it yet..
Light: Thanks alot! I still have to stop thinking in terms of lines. Been doing that for too long and i think it's hard to eliminate exactly that. Have to paint more and think more values. I would love to do longer studies, but the class i go to only do 1-3 minute poses and people don't like to pose for hours:/ Either way i could just use photographs.
Sedone: Thanks! Nice to see you back here
Sfr:I think he was just concentrating animating, but yeah..I see what you mean, he he..Btw, what have you been up to lately? Havent seen you around for a while.
Axl: Thanks
Trance-R: No watercolours Just Pencils and pens..I will do that however..Summer is a nice time for that. |
