sorry i disappointed everyone in the wip forum, but i had to leave abroad for a few days and that stopped the dragon sketches :].
I finished it today after some struggle, and I saved a couple more steps so you can have it all here:

I still think step3 (topmost pic) was the peak after which it all started to come crashing down :]. but I do like the head somewhat.

c&c welcome.
and stop entering the flame wars already :P

Very good! The wings have a certain something to them, showing age to the dragon maybe? I stopped by you're page, I really like the nature studies you have done.

I'll say one thing:

Damn!

or maybe two :
I don't know what you mean by crashing down, it's really good looking.

very nice! scary dragon flying at me, eep!

i think you should add some whites to it though. you color ends at the mid-tone grays, i think some bright highlights would do it some justice.
also, his left talon and that whole dark shape beneath the body that signifies legs, tail and maybe other appendages could use some form. throw in some dark gray there.

the whole painting is beyond any skill i possess though

Yeah... nice all right, but I would still say that one off your earlier steps made more sense to me!!!

I must admit that seing the final product here, my first thought was... man he got tired of this piece, especially with the surroundings after he had finished the dragon !! Ofcourse I can be mistaken , but I was somehow disapointed seing how it all ended!!! I think your progress steps in the WIP section promised more than this!

Once again... we need more progress tutorials like this one!!! Great Initiative!!!
