I don't know how appropriate it is for a total novice to comment (since I couldn't paint anything remotely as good as this is), but I guess everyone can be a critic, eh? :P Anyway, it love the style, but I find the shading a bit flat. That is, I don't get enough of a sense that the shield is closer to me than the body is.. Does that make sense? Consequently, I don't get as much of a feel for the Minotaur's mass.. so he doesn't look as menacing as he could. Still, I love the art! |

took your crit, tried to darken up the back a little. also added a shadow. think that helped? anything else?

Thats's quite nice, and you even made it better at the second pic...
But I think the highlights on the sword and the shield are wrong, cause especially the shield doesn't look metallic at all, it looks like made of stone.
Try to make it some brighter, and especially the edges need to "glow".

You have obviously got the talent for shading and coloring, so why not try ditching the outlines? I think it would look spectacular if there weren't any outlines, just the 3d rendered look. |

never tried ditching the outlines before. mostly cause I'm not really much of a painter. maybe when I get some time I'll give it a try though |
