A painting I did from the scene of Return of the Jedi in which Boba Fett is combatting the heroes at their execution.

A fair amount of detail was lost in certain areas as I rushed this thing and didn't feel like zooming in much.

Done with mouse. C&C?

very cool, i wish i could paint like that. anyway wasnt it funny how boba fett was like some huge and admirable foe in empire, and then all of a sudden his rocket thing goes off and then he gets knocked out and falls into the big pit. HAHAHA

Hey - that looks great!
But not to be a dick or anything - do you have any inbetween steps to this?

There are some artifacts in there that kinda make me suspicious of how much reference you used.

Especially around the corners - on the left. And in the sky there seem to be artifacts of two different kinds. Please prove me being an overly suspicious bastard.

This just points at the futility of what were doing. So you're right Loki, so what? What if he had sucsessfully covered all traces of the jpg, then what? The image would virtually the same, but he would be concidered a skilled painter? What do you think photoshop is for? In my opinion, no matter how the "referance was used" it's still a stilted, photographic-like image of a tired character from an old movie.

Senate, sorry so negetive, this was acually meant to be slightly in your defense.

In any event, I only tohught it was wild since it was done via mouse? i've seen some sweet mouse work and know it is possible, but damn. I can't play a game of startcraft without over correcting, can't see how someone can be so scary when drawing with one. You mouse guys freak me out =]

Hmm, the only conclusion I could draw on the artifacts is the JPEG compression..

I originally painted using a scanned photograph of my television (very crappy, indeed) as the reference

theo: yayaya ... well - he should have mentioned the used reference beforehand ... then we wouldn't have a problem with it.

senate: well - wanna show us the reference you 'scanned' from your television.

Those artifacts are not typical JPEG artifacts since they're partly covered by your brush strokes. That means you painted OVER something. So it's a paintover.

Maybe you wanna show us some inbetween steps?

I still call this a Threnody until you guys convince me differently ...

A troll? I haven't even done anything except take verbal abusage for a paintover..

If you want to see original paints, look at my other threads, genius.

God you need a life. Having 4 little collections of pixels representing stars next to your name sure puts you in God-mode doesn't it now?

Relax, fucker.

You didn't say it wasn't a paintover. You said it was an original, which is obviously a bold face lie.

"I originally painted using a scanned photograph of my television (very crappy, indeed) as the reference"

Something that I find especially hilarious is:

"A fair amount of detail was lost in certain areas as I rushed this thing and didn't feel like zooming in much."

Did you mean to say that a fair amount of the detail was lost because you aren't even talented enough to TRACE detail? I think so.

As far as 'emotional outbursts' go, I'm pretty confident that my post was neither emotional, nor an outburst. What I did was post a whole bunch of your half-witted, canned-critiques. It isn't my fault that you were raised as an enormous bastard. And as for any 'emotions' I have toward you; there aren't any. Only a very suitable adjective: PATHETIC.

Please shut up now.

By the way, since you've taken the liberty of personal attacks on me for no apparent reason, let me just say..

You are one pudgy bastard. Your pic on your website. Seriously, I pity anyone who has to be subjected to your disturbing presence for more than a few seconds.

Now, if you'd like to call that trolling, well, go ahead. I'll admit this post is a troll. But I haven't done anything up to this post for you to warrant such rude fucking behavior that you've expressed in your former posts.

Do us all a favor, ride a bike, lose those love handles.

Wooooo, mature! You've confirmed my assumptions in that you're a nine year-old, little shit with no talent, no life, and no social life to speak of.

It must've been really difficult for you to see your dad continually have sex with your sister. It obviously did quite a number on your likeability.

I understand that living in a trailer park is difficult for you. But just because you're a talentless hack, don't take out your frustrations on others. Obviously you can't say shit about Loki's work, so you result to childish antics. Even your insults lack intelligence. Do the world a favor and have a nice hot bubble bath with your plugged-in computer.

Haha, I guess I did get a bit carried away.

I don't like being insulted by scum. It makes me want to KILL KILLLL ... err, again, sorry.

His webpage is really fun to look around, though. His entire life is there! I can see his friends, his girlfriends, everything. There is this one picture of some girls ass that was obviously taken from behind a window... what a fuckin' pervert.

I'm done now.

Now, I can agree with you there, but I think that someone visting this forum would learn the same things by looking at a convencing paintover that they would get from the original photo. They look the same. It's the artist doing the paintover that's not learning anything. So, in misleading people by posting paintovers senate is waisting his own time more than mine.

loki, I fully agree. I was not trying to argue or make any sort of rational point.

I was just throwing out some stupid sarcasm so that people could live happily ever after.

I suppose it did not work. *sigh*

And you have my IP? ROFL? I'm sure that was hard to obtain. Try doing what you will with it, you skilled little hax0r.

Hehe, nice.

BTW, there are plenty of threads that could do with this amount of replies, so lets rekindle the trend...

(on an odd note, I did agree with one of the comments about Boba Fett being a really tired character. He's cool, but do we have a fill a whole film with him?)

Where did all the pretty pictures go?! Hahaha.

Ceenda.. yea, I agree. Boba Fett has lost his mystique in my opinion. Then again, I'm really not that big of a Star Wars fan to begin with.

On a completely different note, is anyone else going nuts waiting for Spiderman? I don't think there has ever been a film that has interested me as much as Spiderman. I'll actually wait in a line to see this one! :P

It's too bad that this guy gets over 36 replies. While people who work really hard at improving themselves, and who desreve to get advice and help from more expereinced atrists, get like 2 or 3 replies (some get none).
Oh well...ce la vie
