From the looks of it he took just the outline of the figure. Not like he reproduced the Mona Lisa or something...

I�m back and this place is getting really shitty... Craig Mullins is never around anymore because tossers like senate and others rip off his work as well as other peoples�, and then think that it can be passed off as their own, he used to post some extremely informative stuff that helped everyone. If you want to overpaint, ASK PERMISSION, I would be fucking pissed if I found somebody had drawn over my painting I spent time on... especially if it was bad! Have some thought for other people. You can tell it�s the same head, so maybe you just used that but stop lying for fuck sake ...scuse the language but inconsiderate bastards really piss me off. Anyone that is caught ripping other people�s work off and pass it off as their own should be banned for good, maybe that would get some people in here that are good artists and want to learn or advise, and weed out all the shit. Now if I were you i�d apologise to everyone in here, including Craig and save the last bit of fucking dignity you�ve may or may not have left.

He USED to come here. He used to actually take time to teach us as well. He gave lessons, made us tutorials, and offered feedback on everything from our work to different concepts and ideas in the discussion forum. He stopped coming around (or at least posting), because he got sick of the childish antics from people like our buddy senate. The same goes for tons of other incredible artists. Loki, Frost, Danny, Greg Pro, Adi Granov, Christian Lichtner, Shane Caudle, etc.. etc.. the list goes on forever.

Some of them still visit, but very rarely take the time to help the 'beginners' out. All because of assholes like senate.

How ya feeling now, senate? Look at all the friends you have! It's pretty pathetic when you can't even gain acceptance on an Internet forum. Loser.

I didn't say senate was the reason many of the great artists have left. I said people LIKE senate are the reason; and they are. Don't take it from me, the artists themselves have made this quite apparent.

Also, have you seen any of senate's other posts? It isn't just this thread that is causing everyone to attack him. He has ripped numerous pieces in the past little while.

So next time you feel the need to lecture us on the way we should or should not react to people like this asshole, take it upon yourself to consider that some of us have been here for almost 4 years and have seen these jerks come and go in masses.

Hi Guys,

I work with a guy who's specialty is prepress and he knows alot of tricks to find artifacts. I've applied those techniques to this painting and the some of the stroke patterns and grain match too well to the original to be a coincidence.

I'm thinking maybe I too could have performed the way Senate did. I mean, say I'm impressed with Frazetta. So I make one of his pictures my bottom layer, and paint around it to try and discover the same "feel", mood and texture that fascinates me. Suddenly the picture is all different, and I've put so much into it that it feels a lot like "mine". Only problem here is Senate not informing me in the first post. I say this because obviously he's changed it into something his own, learning alot from the experience. I like this result. I'm not bothering going through earlier blunders, but I understand why Senate goes defensive, and others charge. Senate, next time you put effort and time into something, and want some fresh eyes on it, give me a ping, giving us some info on the procedure, and it won't matter how you did it. I think it's deception that ticks people off, not copying.

Anyway, some ethics discussion might be appropriate / revived? Personally I don't like it when people use reference and don't mention it. Or drop 2-hour paintings in the Speed Painting thread without leaving a comment...
