It is pitiful that some people on here may consider themselves better, or perhaps more important simply from their length of time or amount of posts?
I'm sure many people see this forum in a very straight-forward manner, which I would agree with. It is a place to spread opinions about one's artwork, and help give ideas or advice to the "sijun forum newcomer".
It's become quite clear to me that many of you are pointing the finger at newcomers and saying they are the reason this forum has, what? Lost it's touch? Lost what it once had?
A perfect example is when someone that has supposedly not been here for a long time, posts their opinion of the forum. Many of you will jump on their case, and say "Who are you, to say what you think about this forum?".
How dare these "veterans" feel as if they have some sort of allowance, giving their opinions more weight over the supposed "newcomer".
If you truly want to know why this forum is supposedly losing what it once had, its because of simply one thing:
The negative response to any sort of new-wave of personality or opinion which may enter the forum.
This negative response leads to flames, leads to negative threads, and eventually people will say that the person who originaly posted the topic is to blame.
Yet, if you look carefully...it is those who responded to the "newcomers" opinions with negativity who morphed it into a flame.
I say, if you wish to extinguish this, then stop feeding it your anger. Whatever you are angry about, I am here.
Just talk to me, I will help you deal with that anger
Let me end off with a quoted message from someone who is a well-respected member of Sijun Forums, and has been here for a while.
So all of you "veterans" may actually see that others like you, have these thoughts.

"it's sad. people there lost sight of what the forum actually was. the people who have been there for some time, have lots of post, and have an "ego", think they are better than what they call "newbies". bascially they hate it that newbies who arent so good at art, are posting their artwork there."

Kind of funny coming from a guy who has what 2 threads closed now? And I'm sure this one will soon follow. Cause it looks like someone is starting to do some house cleaning and getting rid of a few threads.
You know I've been here for a while and honestly I haven't seen any post closed until they got too big until now. And there's what 4 or 5 (pretty sure more to follow) and 2 are our own Happy Man.
And nercomers never bothered me. I actually found that many of the newcomers brought new ideas here and made me think a little harder cause I know where most of the ones that have been here for awhile stand in many things. |

there are different kind of newbie:
kind 1:doesnt take art seriously, come here once per month and post whatever they did, even some 30 doodles on Gallery/finished forum.
Whom make stupid comment on others people work like "hIs nOsE l0ok like my dad's penis lol lol ROOFFLE!!!"
and more that i coulnt think of right now
kind 2: take art seriously, come here to learn, show and crique others people work constructively.
and more that i coulnt think of right now
and there's more, but those are the main one i could think of.
I like the kind 2. |
