The answer is no.

Here is a speed pic of Legolas from LOTR I did. Took me about an hour (which is speedy for me). Basically trying to understand lighting better and trying to use soft and hard brushtrokes together. When I normally do a pic I tend to go to the rendering too quickly and later on there are issues with my images. I'm trying to quickly, but accurately, get the basics down. As you can see, I really need help.

This is as good as I could make it, any advice or paintovers very much appreciated.

Actually, you could be more clich... a lot more...

The only thing clich about it is the boring, almost non-existant composition... but that's really not a clich now is it?
It's just sloppy.

But I don't really think you are focusing on the composition on this one.

But... there are also some problems with the actual figure:
- The ear is too small.
- The eyes are too high up, and too close to the nose(They should lie deeper into the eyesocket). There are also some problems with the shading of the eye.
- The upper part of the nose is too heavily shaded. Normally there would at least be a thin stripe of light going all the way up to end of the nose. There's also some trouble with the rest of the nose shading.
- The neck is a bit off.

Now, there's much good stuff here too. The lighting is generally good. I like the sick green tones.
The mouth area is amazing, especially the little flick of light going out from the end(Excuse my bad english) of the mouth.

Nice sketch, all in all.

It looks nice after a while...once i got used to the fact that he's all green that is hehe.

I wonder if the lower eyelid should be so bright...maybe there is some ambient or reflected light there but maybe it shouldn't be so bright. It seems that the ear is too small and too far back also.
