Have been gone from my wacom tablet for too long I just rediscovered the joy of painting (yet again) and figured i'd do some tweeking of this pic that i planned to do some time back... looking for C&C, it's starting to look solid but i think i'm staring myself blind now...
here's the original
and here's the redone image...
While i'm at it i 'redid' another picture.. probably gonna end up givin her a pair of wings too... first i did this though
and the result... I'm having major problems with the hands... pointers are extremly welcome...

The danger of working from 2d to 2d is that if you dont visualize it 3 dimensionally before painting some things like foreshortening can get totally messed up. The hands are an example this problem. |

that hand, the one on the right there... (as well as the one on the left...) is wac.
construction is wrong. don't get those fingers and foreshortening confused for the whole hand. look at what you see, and draw it. i like to start with boxes if i'm having a tough time. look at the hands and realize what they're doing. that lowres image can be misleading, but the hand is in a much different position and the thumb isn't even exposed. start from scratch and do it again. it may take a bit of time but if you do it right you'll have a tool for next time.
&
and if you want to go with a new pose, keep in mind that a hand in a new position won't necessarily fit with her arm as is, you'll need to tweak up to the elbow and perhaps bicep at least if not to the shoulder. good luck though

Bungee - Look at it this way, at least it's painless
kryticalerror - Hey thanks! I've been trying to fit in those hands and in the end i just gave up (well for the time being anyway, hehe).. I never even noticed that she holds her hands differntly on the reference pic! Thanks alot!
Having ignored those (damned) hands for a while i continued on the pic and did this..
