crits welcome.

That's kinda cool. I find the rendering of the face doesn't seem to fit the body... Could just be me. The video of your progress steps was very interesting. You worked and re-worked the hell out of this image. My favourite part is his lower back, looks quite real, and the colour choices are great. |

lol Excellent emotion. That's how I feel when I see some of the insane talent on this board somthimes hehe. I like the skin tone, and the way his nose sticks out from his fingers, also the way his toes are curled up. cool cool stuff |

weird and beautiful. you have an awesome style. some parts of him look wildly cartoonish and yet some are completely 3d. |

Reminds me strongly of a card from "Magic: The Gathering", a trading card game. That card was named Terror and featured a creature in a similar (tho not identical pose, peeping out through the fingers of one hand in much the same vein). Was this the inspiration, or a spooky coincidence - sorry to ask, just curiosity demanded it
I'd scan it - but I gave my cards away to a friend
Ah well, either way, as an original or a different take on that original, I like it, plus it conveys the subject well enough.. perhaps lacking depth of the emotion, but then, I doubt that's what u were after.. Nice job
Another note - the above sounds cruely accusational, this wasn't even slightly intended
Secondly - love the slideshow, just downloaded.. wish more peeps would keep their progress pics..

evilasmo - I found a scan of it the artwork.
May have to drag to address bar
Um, hi, everyone, this is my first post. I'll try to make myself useful when I can.
The poses are similar. I think the over exaggerated eye really takes away from the mood. It makes it look more comical than terrified. Perhaps consider a regular widened eye with a very small pupil? |

maybe it was a subliminal inspiration, but it's been 10 years since I last saw that card, and I haven't thought about it till just now.
Gonna try to find it somewhere :] |
