ahhh i hope you're not trying to post the same drawing on three different threads. The moderators aren't going to like that. Did you read that reply that you needed to get webspace. I dont think that http://mylighter.jpeg/ is your webpage. If you need a free service provider I can't recommend a good one that will let you post your images, but to get an idea a service provider is http://www.geocities.com. Do a search in the forums, I know threads about good free providers have been discussed before. |

Insider, my advice:
Be sure to first figure out how to make an image of yours viewable through the web from someone else's computer before you try posting again. You can't post an image here unless it's already viewable on the web in general.
As for how to do that, here's a short primer on how to get your stuff up:
Take something like www.sijun.com. That is an address which points to a computer somewhere, a physical computer, connected to the internet, with software running that specifically allows it to transmit ("serve") files, including webpages and images, upon request. Now look at the part after the .com/. cgi-bin/whatever. All that is the path to the file on that machine.
Your own computer, while connected to the internet, does not have this webserver software activated. If you have an always-on connection like cable or DSL, you can set up a web server on your own machine. However, if you just have a modem, you have to find someone to serve your pages for you. What that means is that you'll have to copy your files to THEIR computer via the internet (through FTP, for instance), and they will serve the webpages for you. Your address will then be something along the lines of http://www.yourwebprovider.com/~yourusername/filename.jpg.
There's a chance that y our internet service provider already gives you 5 to 10 MB of web space; you'll want to ask them about it first. Otherwise, you'll have to either find a free service (which generally forces you to put ads on your pages and doesn't let you serve images directly) or pay for a service.
Since there's a good chance you'll never read this, I won't go into any more depth, but if you have any specific questions, please ask.
And please ignore people who call you a "dumbass" just because you don't understand something. They'll only have the right to call you that if you also ignore the advice that's given to you. (My advice is what's at the beginning of my post: Make your image viewable on someone else's computer before you try posting it here again.) |
