I've fallen in love with anime, big-time -- not indiscriminately, of course, but with an open mind and even bigger eyes. I've posted a few things here; they've been lousy imitations -- and this is, too.
But I love it.
Please enjoy.
(Note: Nikurashii means "hateful", or at least this is what I intended.) |

I'm not 100% because Japan is another planet and thus impossible for mere europeans to comprehend from a distance.. but I think that last hiragana belongs beside the one above it. that is.. you've separated "i" in half. but then perhaps you did that on purpose? humm.
i think the correct way to write a long "i" is having two of them hiraganas after one another: ii, but i never write vertically...
I like the picture. Nice style.
I only have one suggestion.
The dark sword on the back gets a bit distracting imo. My eyes get pulled towards it because of the contrast and the steep line it makes across the image, but also because I've seen so many swords on anime backs. Makes it sort of an overstatement. To shift a bit of that attention to the subject would make a nice difference. |

I'm liking everything except the face..it looks too 'cartoony' and its outline is too defined, it contrasts with the rest of the nice image |

Thanks, Xeniu! I stole the word from an online dictionary and have not formally studied Japanese, so that's good to know. I'll fix it immediately.
Senate: I did a few layers of the guy and kept trying to erase this part, add that part. He was drawn with thick lines but I felt that keeping him all one way or all the other would look bad. I'll go back and post him again with frayed lines. Thanks! |
