hey! I got myself a copy of photoshop and transposed my traditional painting skills over. Here's the final product. It took 30 minutes with brushes hard and soft using a mouse. I"m getting my wacom this week.

Thanks for your help forum. What do you think?

hmm, nothing great to be honest.. but you seem to have the hang of the whole painting thing. Keep going.

The colours in the hair are kinda going funky..

Try to work more contrast into your values, and don't be afraid to put down some hard edged brush strokes, this is mostly needed around the actual silhouette, and to define some of those interior details such as the nose and the jaw.

Hope that helps.

yea.. its very blurry

When I first started I used the air brush a lot and I used the fuzzy brushes. Once I stopped fearing hard brushes things started looking MUCH better.

Well.. good brave start now all you have to do is stick with it.. learn from books and people and soon u'll be real good

Thanks for the tips. Yah. I'm a little hesitant to use hard brushes right now. Learn from books? hmmm....digital books? oh... you mean tradional paint books. okay.
THANKS
