here is the "fishman" sculpture that i posted a while ago. my friend bay created this from his imagination. if you're in new york city, head over to sva on 23rd street to check it out in person. it'll blow you away. and check out the sketches Bay did for this. unbelieveble!

Hmmmm, holy sh*t that guy is freakin ugly!
Hahaha, well I guess he's supposed to be... .
For me this is just unbelievable.
Make a lot of sketches, color them, change things, make a model, color it...
Just : wow
I myself am drawing lil pencil characters, am eveb able to outline them with a black pen and that's where it stops for me... .
When it comes to coloring I already suck.
Man, looking at all that awsome art really brings me down... |

The sculpture looks great. Does the sculptor go to college or is he pro or do this as a hobby? |

I'm the one who built this thing. Props to JR for the posting. I'm shy over this internet stuff. I've just scanned in some more photos, of which I'll post with some words on the process. Thanks so much everyone for your feedback. If anyone's in the area, they should go by the gallery and take a look at the actual piece (23rd & 3rd in Manhattan). After that it's going to a show in the prestigious 'art directors club'...I'll get some info on that later if anyone's interested. |

Did a a kick arse job man, really like it.. If you can be bothered to scan the concepts on the walls, would be cool to check out that stuff aswell, see how you worked it out, etc. |

Wooo very cool looking. I'm going to head over to SVA to check it out. I didnt know you went there Jr, I graduated from there in 2000, still know a few people down there. I used to work downtown so I would swing by the shows now and then but since we moved back to times square i havent had a chance.
Whats he made of? Was it originally a clay sculpt ?
oooh also wanted to ask about the paint, airbrushed?

I'm an illustration major at SVA as well...except I'm a sophmore. This thing was my first sculpture attempt. It's size was probably a mistake, but I learned a hell of a lot... |

Here's some more fishman pics. When the show goes down, I'll post some of the pics of its inner structure. [IMG]http://www.geocites .com/fishmanhand2.jpg[/img:dec4109112] |
