My friends are starting up a game company. Im helping out in some of the things. Here is the logo I created. Tell me what you think. Right now its not at a profesional level, but if it would be would you use this logo?
Sorry I have to use geocities so to make it easier I just made a webpage for it. Clicking on the link should work.

hey there I like
As far as crits go I would check out the letterspacing a bit, it seems inconsistent. Try closing the gap between the E and the N slightly and maybe open up the space between the I and the X.
I also find that when you replace a letter with a graphic in a word (like you have done with the O) sometimes the word becomes a bit disparate, I think you could help this by closing in the letters each side of the O a bit.
As for the development part I think it looks a bit tacked on and will make the application of the logo difficult in future where it is. My suggestion would be to move it in and make it fit nicely beneath the 'ENIX', maybe even with a finer font.
This logo should also be striking in B+W, so it would be good to see a version like that too.
Hope that helps ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Unlike the other crit - my only issue is with the graphic itself. It's not very clear at the current magnification, and if you were to make that into a 2" block for say, letterhead - it'd vanish. Make a bolder graphic that takes the bird shape into account but make it BIG and BOLD. And the squiggly-fire bit is cool graphically, but on B & W it'd just turn into a squiggle.
BIG and BOLD. |

You wanna know what i think?
The phoenix lacks ENERGY... make that damn bird burn...BURN...and come a little bit outside of the "O"... would make your company look alot more enthusiastic... and put some yellow drop shadows behind the text... you must try to give the feeling of heat, and flame.
but so far so good dude ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Go Read the thread under DJ Logo, Jabber has some great advice. here Ill just cut and paste it..
usually for logo design, there are some considerations the artist will want to take into account. these are based off of logo design for corporate illustrations i think, and will usually be used across multiply mediums.
1.size, is the logo distinguishable at many different sizes? (i.e. small, medium, large)
2. greyscale, is the logo discernable in greyscale like in newspaper print.
3. simplicity, will people easily recongnize a logo, (think of nike, pepsi, IBM, very simple.)
4. does the logo somehow tie into the company, person and what they do, represent.
just some ideas in logo creation. there are a lot more, but it would be better to look at some marketing design books for those i think.
There...
Good Luck |

I actually have a big version of the phoenix that will be used by itself and I think kind of like when you see the nike sign you will now that this belongs to us. I have to clean it up a bit thats why I didnt post it. I'm gonna put the letters like bastion said under the enix. I'll also try the yellow drop shadow. As for the BW version ill have to see how I can make it work with the fire. I think Kuma might be right about turning into squiggle but in any case its most likely going to be viewed in color. Points taken. Thanks for the help. |
