Hi everybody!
I was asked to do a month in a calendar that a design collective that I've had some dealings with are doing, and I thought I'd show you guys... it's 1024x768 so I'm just posting the link
edit: changed the spelling, and the shadow on the shoulder as suggested... plus I had apparently done the wrong month =)
clicky

you need to remove the visible outlines on the top of the shoulders of the girl. this is the only thing standing between the picture and wallpaper greatness. |

I love it too. Just to nitpick, it's vertebrae. But that's a minor thing. Awesome picture nonetheless. |

thanks everybody! =D
mad: I tried that, but the shadow just isn't dark enough to justify that... it looks strange... I did remove the rest of the edge though (it was visible all the way down)... I'll see what I can do about it )
tinusch: oop! Thanks man, that'll need to be changed! =D |

Would kill to know how you got the texture in the skin... Like it much... I agree with the comment about the vertebrae... Cogs are OK; I think an imported vector of the spine or even some kind of integration, size change, etc… anything would be more successful. Like the piece as a whole… If you get the chance, would you please post or e-mail me the specifics of the skin? |

thanks!
I think you may be right about using a real vertebrae instead of the cogs... but that's how the whole thing started out so I didn't really think about changing it... good point though, I'll keep that in mind for the next one...
as for the skin texture, I'm not sure what you mean... I mean the actual body is as you can tell a black and white photo that I just changed the saturation of... but if you mean the bubbly texture of her lower back then that's a brush called snakeskin (can't remember if I made it myself or found it somewhere... doubt I made it) and I just made a copy of the body on top of the old one, very carefully used the dodge/burn tool with that brush set and made that texture... then I used a layer mask to make it fade out and into the back of her.... simple as that =)
holler if you want the snakeskin brush and I'll bring it into work on tuesday...
thanks for the comments! |
