All right, this is far from the best I've done, but the character in herself is somewhat unusual. Her name is Thorn, and she is a tzimisce vampire.
An all around bad girl.
She has smoothed out her skin 'til there are neither hairs nor pores on her body. The eyebrows and lashes are 'fake', in that they're actually just tattoos.

hey hey! =) Forgot to say something at ebonykeep, so I guess I'll be the first little fanboy here...
I think it's beautiful... well they eyes and blood and texture(or intentional lack thereof) is anyway... I don't really agree with the tattooed eyelashes and so on, but if it's what the character is supposed to have, then who am I to argue...
the only thing that bothers me is the space between the lips... it feels a little bit too wide for them to be completely closed, so (for me) it gives her the impression of being very 'bubba'... sort of like a gibbering fool... BUT that's probably just me... amazing work as usual Linda =) |

Oooooh, dear mastr, you have to be really more careful with blood! Those bloodstains are really hard to wash!
( Great start! I really love the depth of her look! In the overall paint I can already feel the ferocity of such a creature and the intelligence!
Nice work Linda! As always!
BTW, I must say I'm amazed by the number of drawing you can do in one month! What is you secret for doing so m beautiful pictures so quickly? )
Your faithful servant, |

It seems something is missed between the lips and the nose? Those two vertical rims and this hollow between them (don't know exact wording for that :-)
Anyway that's cool!

Great stuff as usual. Not much to criticize on, although I'd like to change a few things.
The detailing is really nice. But stupid, no.
The lighting is (imho) too distracting, which takes the focus/depth from the overall impression. I think the face is what you want to emphasize on, so I toned done some highlights every here and there.

Wonderful piece Enayla. The blood is a very nice touch, very aluring and I like the tattoo idea. As always fantastic attention to detail. I think your work is always very striking and beautiful with huge amounts of persononality. It seems to me lately it has taken a darker route and is seeming a bit less glossy and having a grittier style which
is working wonderfully for you I think. |

I could not avoid noticing you have a special fascination for those vampire creatures wich combine a horrendous and an appealing nature in themselves. I guess that's due to the strong constrast between innocence and guilt and bestiality and elegance which is a challenging painting motive. Oh, and by the way, what's your ICQ number? |

Wow, thanks for the overpaint, Henrik =] I'll really try to do something about the picture, later, and I'll be sure to change at least her shirt according to your suggestions (and part of her head, some of it I have other plans for).
Again, thanks... and thanks everyone else.
As for the picture itself, it's really just a quick character portrait (which might be why it doesn't look as detailed as some of my other pictures), and it is my character Thorn... No, I'm not hired by white wolf ;]
She is a Tzimisce, and as Veritas pointed out - they can look pretty much any way they choose to. Thorn wants to look like this. She's not an old vampire nor a very experienced one. Generation 13, actually, which means that she's not particularly powerful, either. I like them better that way.
Heheh... and as for the pictures being darker these days... I'll blame that on a constant headache and a bad mood ;] I'm glad it's appreciated. |

yeesh.. your really getting into scary artwork lately.. If I met any one of tthe last few people you posted Id run away crying.
anyways.. I think the image is good... but it doesnt seem as finished as some of your other stuff. I dont see any glaring errors... so I wont critique anatomy or anything. |

Incredible as always, Enayla...
I hadn't expected a piece based on Vampire: the Masquerade! Do you play, or have the people at White Wolf Game studio wisened up and hired you to do some of the art for their books?
Great piece.
(Edit: Blacknight, the Tzimisce are shapechangers. It's really not possible to say it doesn't look like a Tzimisce when they can reshape themselves in any imaginable way.)

Great work enayla! Always enjoy when you do these darker style works. Very intriguing looking character, love that cold expression and stare in her eyes.. looks like she means business

i can't give muchof a critique mostly because your style is so far from mine all my judgements would be based on style. one thing that would improveyour painting, though.. is working with colors. there really isn't much color harmony or contrast going on as it is. take out a color wheel and experiment with different combinations of hues, with complementary colors and analagous ones. the impact of well-used color is really astounding and can add a completely new quality to your image. |
