Sitting here, constantly refreshing the forum to see what people have typed in?

Are you happy with your life?

Participating in a meaningless act of socialization, gaining acceptance?

Are you happy with your life?

Artists, animators, poets, writers.....
Are you actually worth something to our society? Do you contribute anything?

Are you happy with your life?

Happiness is pretty overrated. There are loftier goals more fitting for sentient beings.

I agree with mr. McCracken.
Happiness is overrated and often just faked for the sake of giving a good image of oneself to others.

Happiness in any case comes in fleeting moments, which this forum may give to some of us in the form of "oh, that's how you do it!"-experiences. And of course in the form of beautiful artwork.

My oh my, such a response to a "random musing"

Happiness? Well, I would not dare try and post my own opinion of such a topic if I were a person that sits around and gets my opinions from complete strangers "ratings" on "forums".

Wake up, and join what we call "society".

Getting legitimate opinions comes from experience in such a topic, and this one being "Happiness"
We all know that none of you are worthy of saying you know *anything* about being happy, let alone having a life...so please, don't kid yourself.

I am here to make a difference, to make you look in the mirror and say "Geez, I am not happy with my life...maybe I should change something about it"

Post some more idiotic pictures, and that will prove my point.

Happiness is an illusion of humanists, and I myself am one. If you are not one, then what are you?

Wake up....its Happy Time!

I don't think human beings have ever experienced true prolonged, "Happiness" but rather fleeting moments of joy.

Pigs in shit are happy. Happiness is a rather low, ordinary sort of goal, don't you think?

Of course, I understand if you have been brainwashed by society into thinking that happiness is the only thing that counts. True happiness is the irrelevant byproduct of self-actualization.

Well, again my point is proven..thank you.

People such as yourself, of course would have an opinion on happiness if they were like you, that is, a person that is not happy.

So people like you, make up some cop-out reasoning behind why you supposedly think "happiness" is not important, but in reality, you are just drooling for perhaps one moment of true joy and bliss in your life.
The problem with you is that you obviously do not live your life the way it is supposed to be lived....hedonisticly, selfishly, and happily.
Open your eyes, son.

Please explain why "happiness" and "joy" are so goddam important.

And just where is it written that we are 'supposed' to live hedonistically?

You should put down the beer and your skin mags for a day or two and try and discover what life is really like. You obviously live in some weird drug-induced coma.

Unfortunately thats as far as your narrow mind will take you...."drug induced coma"...

I guess thats a good shot, for someone that is living in the dark.

Fortunately I have never lived my life anything like you do, being unhappy.
Happiness is what counts, it is what motivates us to do anything, hedonistic life-style is for our own good. Why do anything other than to benefit yourself?
Why attempt a life if you are not helping it?
Why continue to eat if you do not enjoy the meal?
Why post messages on here, if you cannot get your mind out of the gutter?

The answers are probably with someone like "Unhappy man"...his posts are perfect indication of the level of intelligence on here.
Please...do not embarrass yourself by posting anything more, or shamelessly attacking me my pointing out minor spelling errors or some other weak and pathetic way of making yourself look better.
You are not happy, so please do not spread the plague any further than it has, on its own.

Very good point Dr.Bang.

Finally, a straight-forward response, and an intelligent one at that...

None of the negative "Fuck You" remarks..

Well Dr.Bang, for the people that are unfortunately effected by outside forces, that is when action should be taken.
If an animal is trapped in a box, does it not scratch at the surface untill it's nails are filed down to a stub?
We are human beings, but look at it from the basic point of view. We are animals.
If something like an abusive parent is effecting your happiness, then call the police, move in with a friend, kill the parent.
For every action, there is a reaction...or do we just sit by while we are being stomped on? Look at my post about faust, for example.
Immediate reaction...
Happiness is all in the mind, and no matter how much someone's physical reality is being effected, their mind can always escape.
What exactly are we doing on the internet chatting on a forum? Escaping is one theory, but of course there are many other weak excuses.

But to be quite simple about my point, DrBang, I am not referring to those people anyways...I know that not everyone can be happy when in that sort of situation.
But when someone presents themselves as having enough time to waste it on a forum gathering strange opinions from strange people, and storing it in that little noggin of theirs, then I assume they are living a life that can easily be changed for the better....

You still haven't really explained why happiness is important. Happiness is not what has motivated people to do great things. People often have a desire to leave great works, great ideas, great literature or art behind them when they go. They will forego years of happiness as a sacrifice to the greater achievment they seek. According to you, it seems, people should just toss that out in favor of, what exactly? What do you propose that people do in order to be happy? I doubt it is anything as useful or sublime as creating a great building, or writing a great book, for example.

I am not surprised you look down on artists. It is rather clear that you do not understand what motivates them.

This is something I wrote on my website:

We are only human, imperfect and flawed, but in our moments of radiance, we are capable of such profound beauty. It is those moments of radiance that makes this life worth living.

Happiness means different things to different people. If you are truely happy, you wouldn't feel the need to write these posts. So, go and be happy.

Happy Man is only happy coz he heard George Michael moved in next door to him on the same day he got a job at the new lube factory down the road...
Co incidence? Or something more sinister!

Actually I would be happy if I could find Happy Man and feed him to my dog. Call me shallow, but hey its the small things in life that make us go 'yay' thats before we get bored again and watch lint falling through the air.

MCL

P.S Does this face... remind you of a blow up doll? Or is it just me...damn.

I agree with Lunatique. Happiness means different things to different people. And for some people, happiness is not what motivates them. For me, if I'm happy, I'd go out celebrating and having fun, thus I can't get any work done.

And if you're completely satisfied with this life stage you're on, you will never grow up. Happy Man just sounds like my friend who is 20 and still works at a fast food joint. "I'm happy with my life, you suck because you don't make money", he said.

I forgot to answer your question: I'm happy now, thank you sir.

Unfortunate that many of you see your lives as being robotic unhappiness to achieve what needs to be done in order to live a "normal" life?
Well, lets just put it this way.. I have not yet once stated anything personal about myself, any petty conclusions you people come to, are merely that. Plus, your aching desire to contradict my theory on how happiness is all that matters is truly sad, because you people are the ones that are running a "normal" life, and say happiness doesn't matter? Seems to me, you "artists" are a little less pure nowadays, and a bit more materialistic...and jobs and money seems to be all that matters to you, although your life may not be exactly what you or anyone else would call "happy".

Amazing how many people display my point, when ironicly, they are trying to argue it.
Happiness is simply an opinion, and one could be happy while another person would say "You cannot possibly be happy, when you are living in that shack...sitting alone, painting stupid pictures".
Yet, the artist replys "Painting these pictures is what makes me happy"

You model yourself after the typical 21st century clone, striving for nothing they have a passion for, and mechanicly walking the stepping stones that society conveniantly layed out for you.

Money....what is it really? People say it doesn't buy happiness, but I disagree.

If buying a computer, subscribing to an ISP, and connecting to Sijun Forums is what makes someone happy, then money was the basis of what made them happy.

So, as I stated....you are simply proving my point.
You may say that happiness is very rare, but you are actually, in the long run, doing something that will eventually make you happy.
So if we are not happy now, we are working towards it.
Face it, you are a hedonist just as we all are.

Now, smile for me

Despite this, and against my better nature, I think punching you in the gut right now might make me very happy.
