Hmmm, I like it
Never did anything like that and I'm not going to, but what would the I-net be without all those?

Hehe, yep, I've dabbled in it a bit. Though I only have two that are sort-of worth showing and already in .gif format, and I only found one of them(if I find the other, I'll add it to this msg). Done in Microangelo. |

well, i nabbed some pocket neo geo sprites for reference (the head still looks pretty much like kyo's)
did the same with dan cept i colored him in with his colors from street fighter alpha 3
i basically just went in there and drew pixel by pixel each possition of the guys and moved them around in image ready |

Argh pixel art is killing my eyes. Can't show anything yet tho (NDA). It pains me to see some decent anim made on paper etc get squashed down to a few pixel tall.. arrrghhh
I still have a lot to learn tho. Like proper colour reducing, etc.
My precious.. it's allright... *strokes peg baR* no one will take you away from me.....

Me likes!!
I think that Pixel art like this has it's own place in the great scheme of things and I'm glad ppl are still doing it even tho it's possible to create near photorealistic art on computers
I used to do loads of pixel art on my amiga 600 in Dpaint 3 (I was 12 at the time and skipped school to learn how to use it)- it's a shame I lost all my work through corrupted disks
I might do some pixel art when I get the time and pimp it here tho- watch this space (might be a month or 2 tho) |

Pretty nice work. I used to do tons of the stuff, back in the day. I mostly did tile work for rpgies, not anymore though. Not enough mature people on the net to work with, I also did some work for a fighter game, fantasy based so I got to do ton's of axes and swords and gore, etc. It was great. anyway, back to you. Thats great, good work and all that =] Glad to see someone else doing some, too much 3d stuff anymore. |

Pixel-art is great.
It certainly had its own unique aura of aestetics and - unlike 3D-art - it had much more clearly defined limitations to work with. I guess it still lives on stronger than ever on the GameBoy Advance.
While we're at it, the [Galleries/Oldies] section of my website still has some old-school Amiga pixel-art done with DPaint... check it out if interested.

if your interested theres a nice tutorial in the latest issue of computer arts that explains the way artists are doing that oh so popular pixle art we see so much of, its not really complex but its definitely tedious. very cool though |
