Well, this is the last pic I've made. It is going to be the splash intro for my home web (suppossing it passes the quality control of my family and the art forums).
It is made in Painter 7, and of course it is based on a photo reference (no cloning, over painting, etc... just reference as you can see by so many mistakes it has), though I took many licenses with the coloring, tones, and the shirt wrinkles...Yes, my feet have the toes that way.
What do you think? Something I should touch? Anything seems strange?
And here is the sequence from the original photograph, to the result (which is clearly different...at least in the face and the wrinkles).

To speak frankly, the folds in your clothing make you look like you have 2 boobs on your right side, and an erection in your zipper. |

Well, I wouldn't mind about my zipper (my wife would be quite happy), but you have really worried me about those breasts...
Do I *REALLY* look like that in the pic? ![](images/smiles/icon_confused.gif) |

Well the top fold definately looks like some sort of chest bulge, but that may just be your normal physical appearance.
It's that second fold underneath, it looks like you have an Alien protruding out of your side and pushing against the fabric..or something. |

Well, I really wouldnt worry about that tayete. I see those folds just as folds. Perhaps senate just never irons his shirts? :-)
Where the watch touches the shirt there is a white spot which appears like a hole. Maybe its best to get rid of it rather than trying to make it more clear. Changing the background color would maybe also solve it. But that depends on how you need the background to be.
At the top of the ear is also a little hole as it seems.
However, its really well done. |

tayete take a look at some of the work i've done on my site.
i enjoy doing work with the use of photo references...
my advice would be to have dark and light tones on your face...it looks way too bright contrast. it looks pretty flat, and thats just because you need to pay as much attention to the facial expression and lighting as folds in a shirt.
good start though, i'd say keep working! |

Well, thank you all for your crits & comments:
senate: Thanks for the explanation! For a minute I thought I appearead as some kind of Drag Queen!
Angry Koala:
antx : Thanks a lot! That's the kind of critics I was looking for. Yes there are some holes I hadn't seen (this @#| zoom), I should close them now. Thanks for being so observative (does this word exist in English?)
Anthony J: Yeah, I knew a pic from a photo would look too "cold" or flat. I haven't tried it too much, but seems to be a comfortable way of achieving quick results.
BTW, nice web that of yours, the only thing that bugs me a bit are those ads! *tayete clicks at "Add bookmark"* |
