Not bored at all! I want more!
Those are excellent. I like the style and those dramatic shading.
Just curious, what kind of pencil/paper do you use?

Tasty linework, and a visibly great anatomical understanding. Are you using any reference, like on the biceps / back of the downmost of the three zombbies? One thing though - I see very few legs here... ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Fantastic images. You have got a great understanding of the human anatomy. The muscles on your characters look very active and alive. It looks like you don't even use refrence for your figures, and I mean that in a good way. Posed refrences allways seem to lead to drawings that are stale and stiff (like boris). But your illustrations look natural and unrestrained by a refrence, while still maintaining the correct anatomy. Your shadow patterns work well to describe the forms clearly. Your character designs (especially the monsterous ones imo) are creative. You easily have the equel or better skills of any top notch fantasy artist. It's allways great to see your work.
In other words, I'm not bored ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Just amazing! I love your way of shading. These are the best pencil "doodles" I've seen here in a long time (just the ones of roundeye are as fascinating as yours). These ones make me want to draw with pencils again also I know I'm far from being that good. But these ones will make me try harder to get better so thank you for these ones!
I want more of these, too. |

Good stuff, Cos. I like the action in the second sketch. I really like the man-bat thing, too. I'd like to see you draw some prettier women, though. But you're definitely on the right track. |

wow, wasn't expecting such a good response for this stuff, cheers ppl! (and sorry about the slow reply, not been around..)
Spectra - Thankyou I've been using a 3b pencil for sketching, wouldn't really sketch with anything lower than a 2b. B's are better for shading imo as they're soft, and you can still get pretty decent light to dark shade with just using one. Not sure the exact name of the paper, the pad's make is canson and the paper is very textury/gritty.
Torstein - no reference used, tho a few people have been asking me lately. Pretty flattering, as it feels I'm finally making some progress, sometimes hard to notice it yourself. Cheers =)
Hunter_rosa - wow, one of the best compliments I've ever received, undeserved I feel but thankyou. I tend to see so many areas that look bad in my work it tends to put me off alot of stuff, just means I have to keep pushing and working harder to improve.. tho its really cool you see my work on that level!
Nil900 - very cool of you to say so, thanks! Some sijuners who really rock with pencil tho, don't think I'm near their leagues.. Check out Fred Flickstones and Lukiaz's pencil works next time they post! think they probably have the best pencil rendered style here (of who I've noticed). Very inspiring stuff.
Sedone - Cheers! To be honest I didn't mind the girl faces.. pose sucks and the arms are too long but I kinda liked the faces.. She is meant to be a tough warrior girl that's been in plenty of fights/battles, to have her looking supermodel quality kinda seems abit too unrealistic imo.. and probably abit boring and predictable too. Tho in general I agree I should make more effort with the glamour babes
Again thanks for the kind words everybody! |
