Hello,
I just signed up for an account today, so I'm a bit new to this, there's a lot of good artists on this forum.
I was wondering if you all would mind giving me a bit of help or advice on a picture I just finished.
It's a picture of myself as an anime character, I think it turned out ok, but I think there are quite a few areas I could improve on.
Here's the image before it was colored:
Here's it after:
I used PSP 5 to do the coloring, I seperated the shading from the highlights, and colored regions.
Any advice or comments is appreciated. ^_^

Dude, just keep working, and use more contrast with your colors, deepen the shadows. I'm not very good at coloring, but that is my suggestion. Keep it up dude, looks good. |

I don't know the first thing about colouring anime, but I like this better before you coloured it. Sorry.
Here's a tutorial you might find very useful though, while you're there check out his art, he's quite amazing.

I agree with trixy, the line art looks good, but the colour did flatten out your image. Study some animes, see the lighter base colour for the skin and its contrast with the shadows. Some high lights will help too.
keep practicing. |

Sorry for the long delay ^_^;;
Thanks for the suggestions, the most recent image I posted here (and ones before it, now shown here) were colored using a similar method, it makes much more sense then how I was doing it, and it's much faster
Thanks for your help.
