Very nice! The only thing I can think of to add is that her hands seem a bit big to me. |

It seems very flat to me.
Perhaps because you've used the same texture in the entire picture, and also because the pillars are seen from a very "stiff" angle.
Sorry, I can't explain it better than that right now.

Nice :-) I would work a bit more on the background. |

I would have made her clothes a bit more, uh... leathery, to show her tribal heritage.
Now you just need to add Riverwind. |

the light should contrast on the dragons as much as it does off her. |

Very Nice pic, Kari. I like the concept & textures especially. Hope you don't mind but I did way too much overworked overpaint (It was so fun to do! ). The bg isn't perfect in my version either, but at least I tried. It's not ment to show you what you should do but maybe it gives you some ideas. The concept of your pic is so potential!!!

Wow- this has been a great crit. Thanks for all your feedback!
Reed- you know those barbarian types with man hands!
Diruo- that's right.
Sukhoi- Cyberlink that's exactly what I was worried about with this piece- no lines of perspective. To be honest, I'm not as comfortable with backgrounds as dragons covered with saliva.
Svanur- i'll give it a try on my next version.
Awetopsy- good point- I'm actually thinking of making Goldmoon less contrasty. Maybe she'll match the dragons better. In painting I prefer to make the women match the dragons.
And Tepox Holy Crap that's cool! That's exactly what I'd like to have happening in the background! You've got to tell me your secrets to background painting. Do you use reference or does all of that detail come right out of your head?! |

Nice you liked it. The bg is from my mind. Suddenly, I don't know what to tell you about painting bgs. Personally I don't like my version too much... but, I'll send you an email and try to explain something, ok? And maybe you can tell me the secrets of texturing. |

you may think the hands are a bit big, but I think they 'look' fine. whether their correct or not, they look good. |
