Left me behind.

These wings,
These wings, they slip and fall.
These wings they cannot fly.

Why did you leave me behind?

These woods are dark.

These trees,
These trees, they loom around me.
These trees they smell of blood.

Why did you leave me behind?

Dedicated to Blitz - because he rocks. End of story.

=)

wowzers.... this is nice.
the only thing that i see is her left hip. i don't know how the costume should look, but it comes to a point out there, like it goes out away from her hip. i dunno how to explain what i mean.
the anatomy is quite nice
nice feathery effect
nice bloody breast
what's the picture about? when i look at it i think of a woman who's in pain, and it's kind of thinking about her childhood (like maybe she was a dancer). Is there a story to it or is it open to interpretation?

do you have a site? when i go to it it's just a message board, which i can't get on to... as you probably know.
very nice. keep it up and maybe i'll send you a cookie through snail mail.

Great stuff as usual Enayla =)
But there seems to be something wrong with the shape of her face. Can't put my finger on it but I think her left eye might be a bit off.. and also something about the jawbone.. Bah! I don't know.. hmmz ok
If you cut her face into 3 pieces

1 Lips and down
2 Nose
3 Eyebrows

Her nose is turned more to the left then it should.. compared to the eye/eyebrow region.
And and her right nostril might be placed a few pixels to low.

Well actually *Blargh*
whatever.. Im way to picky when Im bored..

*edit* Forgot about her hips.. something there to

IMHO your best picture I've seen. Really interesting to look at and think of. Can't imagine the story leading up to this pose.

My only minor crit would be the cropping. The finger is almost touching the left border. I think she would stand out more if there was more space. Now it looks a bit like she's reaching for the doorframe.

Gorgeous as usual, Enayla.

I have one tiny, itty-bitty little crit. The highlight on the tree bark. I understand that that's a beautifully bright little sun back there, but I've never seen tree bark shine like that.

I like the painting.

When I read the poem and look at the painting for a little while I only come to one conclusion.....

She's dead.

She's died and she doesn't know it.

That's why she thinks everyone left her behind, that's why the blood is on her breast and that is why she smells blood on the trees. And for some reason, I think her cause of death was a stab wound to the hart.

Am I even remotely close?

Anyways........
Good stuff, got me to think for a second.

Take it easy,
M

i don't agree malachi... she's not dead... she has been really hurt... but not stabbed... it is a love wound... her heart and her sex are bleeding... but there is always a light of hope in the distance...

sweet image... i wouldn't change a thing, i love everything just as it is... her face, the forest, the atmosphere, that light far away, the blood, that tear, the makeup, the feeling, the general sense of uncertainty of the whole image it's telling so many different stories... congratulations!!!

*smiles* Thank you everyone - for crits and comments alike.

I'm not going to go into the story behind the picture. I'd much rather see that people make up their own story, because the picture will mean more to them then =)

Anyway, I thought I'd share three closeups with you:

Oh, and I'm afraid that - at the moment - enayla.epilogue.net is the only page I have =( I suck.

erg. some people have all the talent. thanks for the close-ups, i'll be a-studyin' them. it looks to me like you put a faint texture

malachi, that's a nice deduction. people who don't know they're dead are creepy. but dead chicks rock the house.

I just watched what dreams may come with my chick last week and seeing the girl in this painting kind of reminds me of the wife in that movie and how she's gone to hell, but she doesn't know she's there.

Anyways.......
It's a nice painting to look at regardless of the story one takes from it.

Take it easy,
M

Dear Enayla, that's the most cool picture I've seen here for about a month :-) I very like your art. It always has a kind of story behind. Very impressive and inspiring. Gives quite strong feeling that the image is charged with some emotional power :-)

*creams his pants*

Enayla, I've been following your work since you arrived at Sijun and I dare say that you've developed yourself quite a fan club.
Your work is just plain incredible. This piece is creepy yet elegant.

Keep churning out these incredible images.

*blushes* aw, hush... there's tons of flaws in it that I can't seem to fix =|

But thanks, everyone =] In spite of flaws, I think it might be the best picture I've done so far (though I know for a fact that I see tons of MUCH nicer pictures on Sijun on a quite regular basis ;] )

For those who are interested... this will be my first picture that will be available for print sometime soon...

RATBAT: Thanks =] Wish I could say 'yes' and sound very intelligent while doing it... but I have no idea of who any of those two are, I'm afraid =( Got any links?

(biggest inspirations would be Tim Burton actually)
