Kuren,

Don't try and put the heat you're receiving for what YOU said on me. I explained why I said what I said. Then AFTER that you trumped up with your oh-so-deep theories as to why Ratty paints what she does. I think I was rather straight-forward and blunt, AND I was speaking in general.

So fuck off, and don't try and point the shit that is being thrown in your face over in my direction. If you're going to take a stance on something you believe in, actually take a stance. Don't start whining and back-pedaling when people get up in arms about your views. And DON'T try and divert attention from you to someone else.

Sorry if this is harsh... actually, no I'm not. I'm pissed off.

Creed - You basically questioned Ratbat's psychological stability, when I did not. I simply questioned why she draws mecha hentai, I didn't question her mental stability. People somehow automatically associated me with you because were both questioning the subject content in general.

Please point out exactly where I questioned Rat's psychologic state. The only thing I can find that even SLIGHTLY related to what you're saying is this:

"I'm just curious what kind of life you lead to actually be motivated to paint something like this."

So please, point out where I mention anything about her mental stability. I can clearly see that I asked what kind of life she leads. She could be a porn star, a stripper, or something equally as shocking which would justify to me why painting this kind of 'off the wall' stuff interests her so.

Seriously, I think it might be a good idea if everyone's age showed up whenever they posted. Either there are alot of dumb eleventeen year olds on this site or I have seriously overestmated the average intelligence of the general public.

I repeat get a life people...RATBAT keep doing what you're doing. If this isn't what you normally draw I can't wait to see your "regular" stuff!!!

Kuren I just went to your site and the only difference I see is that this picture is technically better than most of your stuff. I'm not saying your stuff bad but it lacks the depth and knowledge of anatomy that this picture has. Ratbat's image is softcore and very well done. I don't understand why you seem to have a need to understand why she drew this pic?! It is totally the same subject matter that most of the stuff I saw on your site?!

All of this makes no sense to me...A lot of people on this fourm really put the GEEK into the term computer-geek.

Heh, this is probably the silliest thing I've ever seen on this forum. While I, personally, don't feel something of this nature is of artistic value I have to stop and think of an artist making serious money clipping out covers of time magazines, pasting several together, and smearing shit on them.

Now, before I'm nuked for saying it; no, I don't think this is the same thing as smearing shit on a Time magazine cover. I happilly leave you to your art and entertain the humorous idea of people being electrocuted because they tried to have sex with a toaster.

now that kuren's left ratbat alone, maybe you guys can do the same for him now...

and he never never mentioned that HIS art was superior in anyway. I hope you didn't just get that idea by assumption. You don't have to be a "pro" to be eligible to have opinions. I admit his execution wasn't the finest. I rather think the stated a private question publicly than trying to embarrass anyone. Because Kuren was already aquainted with ratbat he just wanted to ask a friendly question. It did not mean to question ratbat's own personality at all.

And i repeat for the sake of repeating. Just because someone's art, in your eyes maybe not be that great doesn't mean he/she is not allowed to critique. I'm saying this generally because I find this is what a lot of ppl do when the feel someone "inferior" has commented on their art.

Ratty - My apologies to you. I should have asked that question in private like my instincts told me.

Sameoldshit - No insult taken for calling me a geek. You can have your own opinion about me or others; I consider myself a geek in some aspects. Though, that isn't a bad thing in some context. My art may not be technically as good as hers, but in my humble opinion, I don't think my art is the bottom pits as well. You may catagorize Ratty's art and my art in the same pile, but then in my humble opinion, I think that would just be generalization.

E.J.Su - I did. After I asked my question which was purely optional.

leechmeister - I agree with your comment; "happily leave you to your art" as I in no way stated I was trying to stop Ratty from creating her art. Afterall, mecha hentai is only small part of what she does.

giles - Thanks for your post about the Salon url you posted. That lighted my knowledge about what can turn on people.

I think you're almost the only one who tried to make me understand/fill in the answer of what I asked of Ratty.

don't listen to the ignorant guys there, Ratbat. Awesome painting and I esspecially LIKE the combination of the girl and the robot. In my opinion it is funny and fresh compared to a lot of other hentai paintings which are far away from having an esthetic appeal as this one. Good composition, too..

Don't forget that every one of us pays for a television service that provides shows with violence, nudity, and programming like "Spring Break" and "Jackass", which is much easier to access than this webpage, and I for one don't consider anything from MTV to be artistic.

Before I nail my big mouth shut, I need to raise a point that still seems pretty strong in my mind.

Rat, you said your main reason for using this type of subject matter is because you think that it's 'beautiful', which is totally fine. To each his/her own. The thing that sorta pushes me away from understanding that is the fact that there is cum dripping down the mech. There is also cum dripping down the mechs in your other mech-sex stuff. To me, that seems pretty far from 'beautiful'.

I have been holding my tongue for a while on this thread, but I have to give my 2 cents. This thread is very similar to Biseors Animation, where you have someone posting somthing, mildly (VERY MILDLY by modern standards) offensive to a segment of the population. People fly off the handle like she is posting kids having sex with animals. I also think people should lighten up, if you dont like the subject -GET OVER IT! This is an ART FORUM, not a MORALS AND DOGMA forum. I apologize in advance if I have offended anyone's sensitivities.

When this image was posted I debated for a long time whether to leave it or delete it. We have a lot of very young members here, and while a dash of nudity is accepted when it comes to art there are certainly things that step over what is acceptable. Granted, the line is basically up to the moderators, but that's how it is.

Technically it's a good picture - well drawn and well rendered - and the concept definitely gets the brain ticking over, but is it suitable for this forum? I honestly dont know, but I don't think it's necessary for this forum.

I'll leave this picture up, but in the future anything this side of tasteful will probably be deleted. Please don't take this as a big deal, I think everyone realizes this picture was always a bit iffy no matter how cool it might be on an adult-level.

I'm also locking this thread since it's only an ethical debate at this point and those are better served in Discussion. You can continue the discussion there if you like, and I welcome emails on this decision if anyone is particularly disturbed.
