This is really my first time at trying to paint from a photo. If you guys have any comments or crits please let me know. I know it needs work but I'm new to it.

Pretty good dude, the leather and the buckle look great. I'm not very experienced at painting form photos so I really cannot offer much help. |

God, it's a message board, not a chatroom. Wait more than 20 minutes before you start complaining. Be patient. Sorry but that's one of the few things that really bugs me on this board... Many people wait hours before anyone even looks at their thread.
About the picture, it's not bad, but something about the face is a little off. I think it might be the chin, it sticks out a little too much. Tone down the brightness and smooth out that sharp bump, that should fix it. But it's a pretty good picture. |

I'd put some more contrast into those eyes as well, they're supposed to snap into our vision when we first look at the picture. The reference is quite blurry, but this picture needn't be. Find another reference picture if you're concerned with details, or use the mirror. |
