This was done for a "StreetFighter2 Pin-Up Contest".

I spent way too long on this piece, I'm so anal about the smallest little details in my paintings.
Anyway............
I'm really happy with how this piece turned out. I'm working on developing my own "Trademark Style" with my paintings. So, this piece might have a bit more of a illustrated feel than some of my other resent work. I used a photo of Playmate Angel Boris out of one of my chick's Playboy's for reference for her body, as none of my own models fit the body style I was looking for. I painted her face almost entirely from my imagination, aside from the basic detentions of Angel's face. The glove, hair, hat, etc., came completely from my imagination as well. The background was painted in watercolor on board, then scanned into Photoshop and the colored. The tattoo on her rump is a freeware font that I modified then painted.

She looks a bit like Nicole Kidman IMO...
If I'm going to be anal, I'd have to say the strand(?) of hair thats standing up from her forehead seems a bit thick and maybe a bit too long to...but then again maybe she uses a lot of hair-gel or something

Oh damn man! Soooo nIce! I'm always wondering how to get that clean edges. Channel/path stuff perhaps? I'm doing also something for that contest but how I can compete against something like this

btw. Does pin-ups need to be always nude?
(just making sure of the term)

hey, and to anyone else entering the secret contest (at the secret forum), you can get refs from my old street fighter website. as far as i know, it still has the largest collection of sf pics. some of the site is down though, since geocities finally figured out i was using an account for storage

this is cool. you did a good job of making the elements from your imagination look completely real. great job on the braids. i had one hell of a time figuring them out on my crappy contest entry. i think the loose, free background works well with your otherwise controlled style.

FordPrefect~ Thanks for the kind words. As far as nude pin-up goes...I assume you mean back in the 40's and 50's? If so, most pin-up wasn't nude at that time, but some was. Now-a-dayz the majority of pin-up is nude. I think that the increase of nude pin-up these days is just due to our society being more sexually open now. But, that's just my thoughts on the matter.

Daijoobu~ Yea, I think the peacock looking strand of hair on her head looks stupid too. It's part of her characters design. I actually thought about ditching it entirely, but I wanted to stay true to her character design for contest purposes.

-Tepox-~ I use the lasso tool to make my selections and then I fallow the edge of the selection with a small airbrush to make my lines.
No, pin-up does not have to be nude, but it does have to exude a certain amount of "sexuality" or "cuteness", in my opinion.

jesusclone~ Well, she's his little "slave girl" I figured having his name on her rump would only be fitting. Thanks for the kind words. Yes, everything was done in PS besides the background. This piece took around 50-55 hours over the course of about 6 days.
