Okay people, here is my last sculpt I'm showing in this little posting frenzy of mine.
THis go 'round I am showing you the actual super sculpy sculpt of the Boris Karloff as Frankensteins monster bust I did.
This peice was a commission by a modeling company who reproduced my sculpt in resin as a model kit. Unfortunately something happened to this company and shortly after the bust came out on the market the company folded. I never even got my resin artist copies! I feel pretty burned about that. I worked so hard on this sculpt and now all I have of it are pictures. I hope to find me a copy of it someday so I can paint it and display it.
Anyway, this was the first sculpt that I had to do a likeness on and I think I got pretty darn close. I loved sculpting this thing and I hope to do more in the future. I love those old classic monster movies.
In these pics the sculpt was near completion but still needed refining and I still needed to add the half shoulders and base.
Anyway here is the pics....

Thanks everyone!
SoMK - Unfortunately the company got the master and I had to sign a contract giving them ownership, only reason I'm not very upset is I got paid very well for the bust so I never got 'cheated' as far as monetary issues are concerned. I did stand to make a genorous royalty on the sales, but since the company went down I lost that I still want a copy of it though. I'm gonna find one someday, I know one is out there.
Jr. - Yes I saw that creature - Very cool! I always thought of doing something like that someday.
Thanks again all! ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
