Posted this at Cgtalk some time ago, was too bored to make a proper background back then.. today I spent 4 hours detailing the image, the view was zoomed in so I could make the details precisely and forgot to zoom out and when I did after the few hours the outcome looked detailed and horrible the same time!! four wasted hours!!! I calmly closed the file without saving, loaded the old one and spent next 1,5 hours painting the very same image while looking it at the full rez, unlike last time.

The newest:

The newer: (just in case you were wondering what is the thing below the dragon: It's a city)

The older:

Very nice Timo!!
I like the old one the best, hehe!

Everything is really great, the lighting, the colours....except perhaps the dragons' snout.
Looks abit like a horses'.

Keep 'em coming

I dunno for sure but for the newer one, I think you should add some more highlights to the dragon on his left side, because the sun is out and he should be very brightly lit.

Other than that, excellent work, good concept...I like your older one the best !
It has a cooler mood to it

Awesome! It looks so much better now. All the c&c I had for it on ICQ are obsolete now.

they're both ace, but i think the older one is much cooler! the mood is stronger and its head is creepier. the main focal point is around his mouth, where as in the new one the sun is fighting for a lot of attention. just my 2 drachmas.

Vanha on paras!! Ok, i'll better write english, hehe

I prefer the old one because it looks kinda more dramatic. At first I didnt notice that this nice little birdie was standing on a city. Maybe you could point that out better.

Sukhoi, thanks!

Anthony J: I made the side a little brighter in the newer version, but I kept it very subtle.

Thanks again Rob, you gave some good advice!

the_monkey: I think the area near the sun is the only thing that resembles Loki's pic.
I used a ton of reference for this image (6 different photos for the city alone, twenty for the environment). Actually it looks like Peter has fortress or castle in his pic, not a city, plus his looks a lot better

Thanks Icannon!

Lapjos: There's a few better lit roofs in da city now, should be easier to notice.

I need to get sleep now, I'll reply to the other thread tommorrow..
