Haven't been here for quite a while but i had nothing new anyways.
It's for Q3, the model (no done by me) is around 2000polys and has facial anims. THere are loads of maps, some are posted here the others tiny ones with some misc small parts.
It's quite a lot for a Q3 model but i don't play anyways.
Nipples are missing in the shots, forgot about them first but added them later.
Guess this will be my last skin for a long while, got enough of it at work, trying to get back a bit to good old misc 2D.
I had the evil advantage of huge maps...

Good job.
The mask/face could use a little work, but other than that it looks great.

Very impressive. I was planning on posting my first-ever game model/texture in a few days... now I am kind of wary
I think the skin could use a little dirt.. maybe some scars. This guy has to get nicked every once in awhile, no matter how good he is.
Is his mouth modelled to open, or did you paint in the teeth after the fact? I don't see the teeth anywhere in your map files (maybe I'm blind).
The sides and the back of the helmet look a little bland.. due to the extreme detailing of the rest of his armor.
Anyway this looks very slick. This was done for the skinset I saw posted over on CGTalk, right? Something like 17 different skins for this model? |

if you have ever heard of a game called Deus Ex i could show the endless smorgasbord of skins i have done for the modding community over there. i must say that the opportunities with that video game pale in comparison to yours and my skins probably wouldn't be as nice but if you'd like i can slap'em up on a server for ya all. |

Damn, Strangefate, it is so good to see you back on the forums! Your Angela model and texture looked unbelievable but this pumps the sexy graphics meter up yet another notch. Man, I've been looking forward to seeing your next work for months and this is no disappointment! All these engravings, clothing designs and armour decorations make the model look like it was made out of 20000 polys, not 2000!
Who the hell rated you down? Hmph!
Only crit would be to add scars, wounds, bulging veins, body-hair, stretched muscles or tattoos to his currently smooth skin. His armour looks like it's seen plenty of action but his body doesn't.
Other than that, it would be fair to say that you are THE texturing god. |

Thx for all the replies =]
Hunter_rose - I already do that at work, more map objects skins and textures tho, doing the same in the free time can be annoying with time.
I'll see if i can mix traditional 2d colored the way i colore the skins and textures, should be interesting.
Manik Monkei - Dirt scars, i had that in mind, always have for skins but i'm in a 'stay clean' paranoia. He has facial animations yes. Only posted
the maps that seemed interesting, the teeth and some others are not posted. I fought long with the ornament on the helmet having more and less of
it. The way it is now i hope the forms of the ornament will stand out ingame, had i used more i think it would be too confusing.
CG talk... yes Skullbox posted the model there i think ...a rather reddish looking forum if i remember right, i wasn't done with my skin by that
time :/
King Lono - Kabuki painting that is ! =]
rYann - That's what forums are for, pimp!
Highfive - There once was a discussion and i guess someone didn't like my opinion, there i lost a star *snifh*
I'll look into veins next time, body hair hmmmm nah ...i prefer them all shaved, asians don't have much anyways.
Stretched muscles ? dunno if i get that right. Doing stretched muscles will look odd in some animations, there's enough skin stretching when
moving.
Yuri - only did the skins.
Tyron - He doesn't, would ruin the make up! |

Question. Did you paint that yourself? Did you use any photos at all? Whatever, this is one huge pile of extremely secksy pixels, brotha. |

Holy mother of Jebus.
That is one sweet job. Whoever this guy is, he had a lot of money to spend on armor!
I definitely prefer the mask with less black.

Flat - it's painted but used a soft dirt overlay on most parts tho.
Oda - 3d Exploration, 2 shots are rendered the other 3 are plain OpenGL grabs. |

Must say I am very impressed. It is the route we have chosen for our texturing in AoA and my god does it take forever sometimes. Very nice work.
Am I wrong or did you take advantage of a certain font for some of the elements on this? Not dissing ya. Just wondering!
Great job. |

mmm Font ? The only font is the one used for the URL in the sword. The chinese words are translated with a web translator and then repainted in PS.
Other than that there's no 'dingbats'-like clipart font or anything the like if you meant that. |

Yeah. I just thought it looked like one I play with called fantastic creatures. The dragon on the belt is very similar to one in it that I occasionally use as a stamp next to my sig.
Again great work! Even if it was a dingbat I dont think that really matters. If it works it works.
I particularly like the pants and the body texture. Nice to see someone actually fairly anatomically correct. I hate it when muscles are in the wrong places.
Did you do the wrapping? |
