Just been browsing the forum the last couple of days and I have noticed something. It seems that people are posting for the sake of posting, if you follow me, what I mean is that people seem to be drawing things just so they can post them on this forum. I myself am guilty of this, I thought to myself, why am I posting this? This is terrible. Instead I should work hard on something put all my knowledge into it, do the best I can and create a well done piece and then present it to the community for crit and assesment. Which I will do from now on. However almost all of the new posts I have seen are either quick unfinished sketchs, or hurried poorly drawn pieces posted by people pleading for crits. Most of the replies are basicly "uh, just draw more". I don't want to bag on the newbies, but please don't just scan whatever you happen to have around and plead for crits on it, instead I would advise you to submit the work you have worked hard on and the things you like alot to be crit by the board. I'm sorry for ranting, but I just hate seeing this great board being filled with fluff.

Just my thoughts.. Am I wrong?

i feel the same way accually...
even though i just posted a random photoshop sketch in WIP, but its not like anyone post's in WIP section anyways so i dont feel guilty! MUAHAHAH! HAHH!!!! HAHHH!~

but I did ask for crit....

People ignored it...and as well as others too..
I didn't come out saying FISRT POST
I was here sharing my views months before i posted...I think it matters to let people
talk....they will know how you think...
Art and bullshit talk is a good mix

there isn't much keeping me here. if people like steven stahlberg were to leave, i wouldn't have much interest anymore. sadly enough most of the other great things about this place died a long time ago.

been here for long long time...this place has evolved to many things...growth is exponential....ive learnt lots....lotsa dikheads out there...but also lotsa great artists that are willing to help...thing is..theres just too much crap floating around to look at quality works...therefore most are missed without anybody seeing it..eh well shit happens..its late...and im tired...

Why leave? Stay here. Post art. Get critics. Give critics. Don't give a damn about all that other stuff. Why are you so down? Come here to post art. To discuss art. That's how Mr. Stahlberg, Spooge and XXX do it. Why getting enraged bout shit like newbies or morons or whatever. It's the art you come here for.

There are a billion chit chat forums out there.

yeah this forum is kind of lacking lately.

we dont see much of Spooge or Stahlberg or loki etc.... too much anymore.

At least we still have Enayla, Socar, Jezebel, Frost, Isric, Agent44 etc.. we still have lots of talent..

dont wrry.. this is a phase.. things will pic up again.. I love this place and Im proud to be a part of this community.

cmon lets make this a cool place again.

If your nick doesn't have the same mental associations as Spooge, Enayla, Loki etc. you don't get much out of posting art. You're better off just looking and learning than asking for help because your posts will just be drowned.

I have been a member of this board for a long time..not as long as others, but still a long time..

I've seen many changes..some good..some bad but on the whole good, as said before in this thread...this forum is about art..the study of art..the application of art in all it's forms..I myself do not post a huge amount as I belive in the theory of learning..I don't just post art for crit or comment..I post art to learn from the others here, i try to post finished work before jumpin on the forum and asking what I've done wrong. I pride myself on posting art done to the best of "my" ability and If I don't think it's up to par, I don't post it.

As said..I read this forum everyday to learn..to study others work, to improve myself. And that's what it's all about..Improving yourself..and that is one thing that this forum has and will always have..it will always have the folks that take the time to try and reply to your posts..and make tutorials..and post images to inspire you to learn from and to improve your own art.

Yes we have some idiots..what forum, office, FAMILY does not...and we know most of the time who they are...but..the good news is the idiots are not the ones with the talent (in general)..and the ability to help.

I myself will continue to read..and gain knowlage from the quality artists here..I will post art if I belive it's worthy of crit from you guys..and I will learn from that crit.

I have and will always have respect for every artist in this forum, some have been and always will be a great insperation to me, Enayla, Spooge, Agent...the list goes on..the good in this forum out weighs the bad..and I try to always focus on the good
