Very well rounded picture.. pun intended. No real crits here. Excellent lighting and composition.

Maybe one.. the inside of her thigh looks like its translucent yellow, Maybe you really did that carefully cuz that light is comeing from somewhere.. but to me .. Its blending into the Background a bit. Ahh whatever... good picture I like. !

Great stuff - the little stream that feeds the pond is a little...odd. Not transparent enough, I think. But outstanding stuff nontheless. Keep it right up!

damn thats nice. however, i was just thinking, and i could be wrong about this of course, does the image seem a bit off balance? im just looking at the lighting and shadows, and it seems really to pull my eyes to the left, which i think is good, cause there is a naked woman there....ahem. but again, the naked woman isnt centered in the image and it seems like there is wasted space behind here there.

Just curious if anyone else sees the same thing. im currently reading up on this kind of thing right now.

She could bake cookies in my hollowed-out tree anytime.

Or something.

The fact that neither foot is firmly planted makes her seem like she could fall over, but otherwise, nice piece. Great tummy.

Awesome....lovely texture to the whole thing.

I think the stream looks like it should be rushing in to the pond with that big dip there. Maybe you should put a rock or to on the lip there to break tup the stream and slow it down...it would also help the perspective of the dip.

Good job! I was wondering what the finished work would look like, and here it is!

I like the style. Kinda rare too see that sort of charm in the current "in your face" world.

This picture truly is top notch! Still, somehow I liked the sketch more - this one has a bit too much color and a bit of monotony at that (heavy green and even tan/yellow). I even felt so strongly about it that I made an overpaint (basically only colors), hope you're not offended, because, I don't think I could come up with as brlliant a picture in a million years!

Sorry for tha poorish quality - didn't want to make this thread too heavy (my pic is 140k, original is around 280k).

Oh, one other thing. I kinda agree with Fleabrain about her being just a blond Scandinavian chick - one can't really see any elvish features (no eartips or sharper facial features - something both female elves in LotR lacked (the face)).

Finer, this stuff is still so superb I feel like crying.

This is a very nice painting, Anders! Saw the earlier version in the wip area, and it turned out great!
I think Marvel is on to something, the bounce light from the water could be intensified just a notch. Also the small waterfall has a strange fall. Instead of falling straigt down it just follows the path of the river. Or is just me?

Her feet bother me. Her right foot particularly has no ankle. Very disturbing.

The way the cloth is in this version (vs. the earlier line sketch) the way she's holding the cloth is no longer plausable. Mostly because she's got no fingers. Looks like you got caught up in the rendering of the tree and the cloth itself to notice that by sliming the cloth down, you in essence cut of her fingers as well.

For some reason, in this image it looks more like she's leaning on her right arm more than in the sketch (in which she appears to be pulling on the branch). Not exactly sure what the change is, though the arm in the colored version appears slightly more horizontal than the original sketch.

Also, for those of you saying "I see no elf!" if you look very closely, you CAN make out what appears to be a point of one of the ears (just to the right of her head).

Lovely peice btw... though I actually enjoyed the original line work more.

Really nice artworks. I like the mood very much.

Just one question: what program? ^___^

By the way I do not think that the main aspects in a painting must be centered. From my point of view there is no space wasted.

Very nice, I think Marvel's sugestion to dim the green in a more soft yellowish, is a good thing.

Thanks for your comments!

fleabrain: She had pointy ears in the sketch, I must have painted over them accidently...

the_monkey: noise filter

Marvel: That definitely looked better. Thanks

The stream feeding the pond looks bizzare because its flowing above ground level. We are told the grass is tall at the waters edge and the mind plays that backward across the field. But the stream is seen at the top of the grass leaves, which makes us think it' floating above ground level.

Toodles.
