Here's an ugly rotting head. Comments, critiques, and questions more than welcome. Feel free to post your own rotting carrion heads.

No ears? Needs ears.
The top portion of the skull cavity looks weird...the part in the back where we see the inside of the skull. It's just the angle that the front crack takes as is goes back over the top of the forehead is odd.
Otherwise I really like it. It's very similar to some of my stuff.

Here's my contribution...it still needs work.

Lazydead, man your piece disturbingly wicked.

The rest are cool as well. Before long this thread might not be for the faint of heart

I couldn't think of an uglier, more rotten head than the wonderous Cher:

Lazy Dead: Thanks for the critique, I'll remember that next time I uhh... make a rotting head or something. The reason he has no ears is because they rotted off, the common chain of logic being I don't remember seeing them on skeletor (but that may have just been the hood). Since the outer ear is constructed of cartilage, just like the nose, they parted ways with the head at about the same time.

Kickass zombie by the way. My only critique would be to lose that secondary lightsource (that yellow one).

Fuddo: I'll agree... that _is_ nasty.

Snarf: Cher may be old enough to be considered a zombie, but she is carefully preserved with a daily regimen of necromancy, lamination, and a forceful and violent dunk in the formaldehyde tank. I suppose the formaldehyde is the reason her eyes are red. Excellent painting, but what ever would possess you to pain cher!?

Samurai, lol.

To tell ya the truth I have no idea... well, not really. My g/f and I were making fun of her earlier in the night to the extent where we were laughing so hard we had to stop. I couldn't resist painting what we were joking about. Heheh. After careful consideration, I probably should've painted Steve Buschemi. His head looks much more zombie-ish.

Here's a sketchy freak head. Not necessarily rotting, but definitely ugly.

Very nice pic Samurai...maybe you could try doing some contrasty work. Giving those pitch black shadows a try...really gives the paitning more life and defines the shapes a lot better, so that it doesnt look so smooth. Great work anyhow...
