I hape posted today a thread about landscapes and it was deleted. So, before saying something bad (like swearing) i would like the one that deleted it to tell me what was his\her reason.

I thougt this forum was about art, so, i realy can't see anythig wrong with that thread.

Thank you, and i hope you won't delete this topic too, because that would be realy nasty.

If anyone else has something to say about this, PLEASE DO !

2. If you have to post, then post this thread in the appropriate forum. I hope someone deletes or moves this topic. It's simply wrong here.

yeah.. that last post didnt even have a pic.. if you had a pic and then told people to post more pics then no one would have deleted it.

Pics are to be posted in the appropriate picked posts. Otherwise, if you pick the wrong pic to post, you might end up picking a pic that's not worth posting! Get it..?

because im not really sure that these forums are that well moderated??..mabey it was hacked??..who knows..anyway..i dont see any reason why a thread bout landscapes shoulda been deleted..closed yes..but deleted?

Look, in the thread i posted i sayd something like this: post your landscape and say something of how you make landscapes, since i am not god at all at it, that is why there was no pic. I, and not only i, was suposed to learn from other peoples' work.

I also thought that this forum was about learning NOT SHOWING OFF ! And since people with five stars tell me i should'n post because i have no picture, i understand they(the ones that posted) are here just to show off.

Look, my question is, if the post was mainly about posting landscapes, why do i have to post something to look at other peoples' work.

WHEN YOU GO TO AN ART GALLERY DO THEY ASK YOU TO SHOW A PAINTING TO LET YOU GO IN ?!?

It's quite simple really; you can't start a thread in Gallery and ask -other- people to make it an art thread. You posted something about landscapes and then asked everyone else to post in it. Not how it works. If you want to start a theme thread then you must include an image to get the ball rolling.

Otherwise everyone would be doing it.

And to the question of the purpose of the forum, well there was never any law laid down about what the forum is here for. It's just here for digital artists to show their work and mingle.

But it can, and has, proven to be good way to share techniques and information. Questions in that area, however, should be posted in Discussion or Work-In-Progress if you have started something and are having problems. You only use Gallery if you've finished an image and would like feedback and ideas.

That's basically how it works anyway.
