i got the perspective for this by chopping up pic bu other city;s and then painted them over - i have a version that has textures on it that i created on canvas and then scanned - but that one turned out really bad.
i am gonna use this sketch too create a "city" in max" then render it and then paint over that render again..

Cool colors. It's hard to tell what's going on with the structures. |

Wow. Paint. Render. Overpaint. Kinda convoluted, isn't it? Should be interesting to see what you come up with though. I've done it myself for some complicated stuff and had varying results. The lighting usually looks good, but never "100% right". Add to that the time you spend modelling and I wonder if it's not more time efficient to just paint the thing in the first place.

Thats really cool. Looks like lotsa fun, really loose and without restrictions. It's got cool looking epic structures and one of those huuuge tokyo tv screens! You might want to emphasise the scale a bit more though, and the structures are a little hard to make out. Nice colours too. |

Good job! Like the others have said, need more definition on the buildings but it sorta has a "Bladerunner" city feel.
Seen that film? |
