Hi all,
i did this goddess without any story behind, only for my pleasure and yours. I suppose that i want to call her Nooda, goddess of the love or ice!

hi chip, no photomanip, all done by hand and wacom.I start a black and white with pencil on paper, something like 5-6 hours for have a really fine picture...i scann and in photoshop i paint and colorize all, i use the same technique as "Adi Granov" he did a complete and really instructive tutorial for cgchannel!
http://www.cgchannel.com/subpage.php?incx=aditut1.html&id=1173
I use in general the same technique

excellent job!
2 things bother me... the staff.. at the top it has some detail.. but then loses it going to the bottom.. i think it would've looked better with the detail all the way along it. and the hand on our left (her right).. i think the thumb would be more visible. it kinda looks like her hand is a donut :P soz i'm just being petty (out of jealousy! ;])
show us more! |

n8: :-) i wanted only paint nipples!! i love nipples!! :-) no, i didn't want to put her clothes properly, because i thinked like this she looks more sexy, more bewitch, she could be too a queen of love! ;-)
Krayz: thx, her right hand looks like a donut? :-) you're right for a part, for me i think this hand and this arm, are maybe to much dark...
and sure, i'll show you more later! |

didn't mean the hand looked good enough to eat ;D
meant that it looks like the thumb is joined to the fingers.. leaving a hole where the staff is passing through..
maybe extend the thumb a little so it doesn't seem to be connecting to the index finger
i dunno.. maybe it's just me.. 3 hours sleep can make u see funny things :] |

Her breasts look rediculous. I get the feeling like her nipples are moving around all over her breasts.
For an image so nicely rendered, you sure did ruin her by not anatomically putting the nipple where they should be. If you want to show the nipples....pull the shirt down some, dont move the nipples up to her neck just to show them!
Just my two cents. |

Krayz: -ok, i see, it's not just you, but i didn't understand what you mean, now it's clear! I think me i must go to sleep.
Robert: -You are not the first one to say if the nipples are an obligation... ok, i don't want to say i'm a sex maniac... i choosed to let appear her nipples, because i wanted to create her sexy, bewitch, attractive, like a vampire or a siren...are they to much vulgar? i only wanted create the desire, ok, i know i did some mystakes with the anatomy, but it's not for free or provocation or only for put nipples... i don't know if everybody understand, because i don't speak very well english...i feel agressivity in your comment Robert, all is ok? |

Very nicely painted. It looks likes she has implants though, because of the way the nipples are.

It's very well done, but was it necessary to have her nipples popping out like that? It seems as if it was done just "because you could" and not to have any impact on the image... |

Hmm.
Am I the only one that sees a distinct difference in the rendering of the flesh, hair, and clothing? Seems as though the flesh is a photo, the hair is a recolouring over layer, and the clothes are a quick painting render.
I'm just saying how it seems...given the lighting, skill differentials, and textures...
Something just doesn't seem kosher somehow.
I'll leave accusations aside, so if it is an original piece, I'd agree with most comments here. If it's not...well....that's just wrong. |

yeah something doesnt look right.. the staff is like almost 2D-ish where as the light and here skin is way too perfect.. how do you make perfect skin then fuzz up the staff so easily?
Don't get me wrong all together it looks great.. but dunno about the validity of it all.
btw: is that Jenny McCarthy? |

the style of this (though not necessarily any individual piece) looks hauntingly familiar to what deathdealer did. |

It's a beautiful painting, no doubt there.
but it looks like there's a little inspiration from Death Dealer's last work.
The difference the near perfect lighting of the girl and the "gradient-tool" lighting of the staff seems suspicious, especially when the staff isn't actually straight.
The rendering of the cloth is the only difficult thing to fault. The way it flows is terrific. |

Here we go again. They never learn, do they?
Why can't they just admit what it is? Why all the excuses? |

feh, are you some sort of prudish religious fundamentalist? the breasts are way too small and obscured by far too much clothing. you like burkhas then go to afghanistan.
bigger breasts and more exposed nipples dammit. NOW!
(the proceeding was a joke, of some sort) |

Aiyah.. i see a lynch mob ahh coming ah.. yup yup..
mmm i do agree with the inconsistancy of the image though. The margin of difference between the well executed section of the piece and the "suckily" executed section is huge.. I have doubts as to whether this artwork is a product of honest and deliberate artistic technique. But i digress.. a close up shot of it would reveal the truth.

Hey, the staff is lighted from below, but the rest is lit by a source up right! |

Gimme a break would you?!
Everything in the image is lit from top right and done so very well - so how come someone who can achieve this quality goes and makes the staff with a gradient tool, and even lights it from a completely different direction to evreything else.
If I'm wrong and this is completely legit, I'll eat my tablet!! If it's a paintover, recolour or composite, why not just say so! |

perhaps that would explain why the breasts look like they have a few gallons of silicone in them... and what happens to the left (her right) breast? It just... ends...
the face looks too realistic for the rest of it... |

Well,
that is an overpainting, no question about that. Take a look at the belt thing she is wearing. It would drop to the floor that way or she has a body like a barrel. The cape thing made of silk has a to even outline, normaly it would catch up the waves going through it, sum up the other small mistake and it doesn't fit. These mistakes wont happen when u can paint things like the face out of u're mind. It's no problem to post an overpainting but saying it came from my mind and talent when it is so obvious that it doesn't leaves a bad feeling for the viewer. Still a nice composition. |
