Hey! New image. (Haven't found a job though).
Please let me know what you think. Perhaps not 100% complete, but almost.

Updated version!

And while you're at it, take a look at my new "picture page". I made it all by myself.
*jumps up and down*. (No html guru).

That is bloody brilliant. The way in which the base itself makes sense visually with the rest of the environment is outstanding. And your webpage is...cute!

Keep it right up.

i can't even tell the different between your pic and a photo any more. I think you have reached the limitation of a human capability.

Dude, it is so wrong for you to not find a job. This thread make me think that there's no God.....unless you move to America! Why can't you move to America?

Dr Bang.
But I am willing to move to the US. But they don't want me there. Somebody want private lessons? Freelance work? Play soccer? Anybody?

Henrik; Please tell me you used a photo (at least) as 'reference' for this. Your bounce light and reflectiveness from the surfaces are too nice... either you're a complete freak or you've done some very meticulate reference painting for the values. No offense. =] Eh. Aside from the two much darker areas at each side/bottom, it's very good looking.

hey Henrik, really good stuff... I'm chatting with you online right now... haha... You're truly amazing, I'm sure you'll find a good job. Or we'll go to Hong Kong and kick some ass with my brother. Who knows, the sky's the limit.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry if I were you... the shity companies that don't reply back don't deserve you anyway...

Epos> I'll play whenever you want man!

Frost> Actually it's a complete paintover. The photo matches exactly. J/k.
I used a photo as ref, yes, but as an inspiration. The light, the variations are made up by me. The ref were used to get some understanding of balance between snow and rock. Hmmm...I don't really know how to explain, but please trust me, it's not "fake" or anything. I didn't pick any colors from the photo If that's what you think. Oh well.

Sensory> The sky is the limit, word.
How about the inlines? Don't forget them.
Thanks, see you at the top.

edit: i spell like shit, that's probably why they don't want me there

Sweet!! I love the lighting and the attention to detail. How much time did you spend painting this?

Only have one crit. It seems like if the buildings are to small to be catching the light behine that right ridge, ie. they don't seem to be sticking out far enough.

Anyways, great work. I hope you do get a job soon. I just got one

cheers,

oKKun> I don't know exactly, on and off for a few days. Maybe 15 hrs roughly.

Well ok I'll change that. I said it's not 100%, let's say its just 99%.
Congrats to the job. What was it?

I don't want to jinx it. I start next week

About the changes, don't take my word for it. The light on the buildings looks really cool. Maybe you can make them seem bigger somehow so you can keep the light there.

oKKun> But you're right. My initial idea was to have this light situation, with the building getting lit on top. But i also wanted to keep them small, which doesn't work since they'll disappear behind the mountain. I'll come up with something.

Thanks

Henrik that painting looks so real!
The picture reminds me of something you'd see in Star Wars.
Try emailing the image to Doug Chiang, ask what he thinks of it.
Who knows, he may want to see more of your work
If you still need a job, create your own art book. Have lots of
drawings and painting technique's. I'm sure you'll sell lots of books,
makes lots of money... live in a big house, marry a super model!

Urrr.. you're unreal! Wow. I can't even come up with the words to describe how brilliant this is.

Dude, you are quite easily on par with Craig, Loki, etc. Those guys are quite successful at what they do (and for good reason), I find it almost unjust that you aren't experiencing the same good fortune through your talent.

I'm going to make it my mission to find you a job, damnit.

God damnnnnnnn...this is just silly Henrik I can't believe you cant find a job you one of the best digital painters I have seen. Certianly in the calibure to be a future Craig Mullins .

Ehh people someone out there works for a company with money there is no reason for you to hold back someone go beg your art director to hire henrik. I already tried to get him some freelance work.. Henrik did my art director contact you??? Come on people lets get this guy working !!!!

Im willing to bet a none digital painter would even know it was fake ..Henrik I suggest looking for some matte painting jobs in the hollywood crowd.. touph buisness to get into though

{edit} Henrik here is a LINK to a job board at highend3d.com It seems a lot of employers go there hoping to get lucky and find some talent. I suggest looking through the job listings and makes some contacts. Make sure to tell them everytime that you are willing to movie to the U.S

JOB BOARD

thats crazy, it just blows my mind. while I was looking I thought of only one thing that could make it better, little blue lights on teh buildings and esspessicaly on the docking pad (little landing lights) I don't know if you wanna use that cause it's already amazing but o well, and as teh others haev said your just as good as craig, and others so I think yiou should probably end up getting a great job

best of luck!

Hey.

Quasar> I got your mail, but i didn't get one from your art director. Still interested though.

Original res 5000x3-something. Yes it's Photoshop. And no, i'm not on par with Craig or Loki, then i wouldn't have a hard time getting a job. But that is not important, i try to do my best.

I almost never start the image that hires. I start att 1500 and scale up once the basics are nailed.

Earlier sketches:

thanks all

herick, why cant you move to America? You said "they" don't want you there, who are they? Are you a terrorist or something ?

Just move to California for a month, and i'm sure you'll find tons of job there since all the major studios are located there.

I don't have anything helpful to say, I just think that good (man, I actually wrote gould instead of good ....it's late) work deserves a compliment.
So: REALLY great work !

I wish you all the best with finding a job.
