It's not very interesting, but for a card it'll do. |

Marvel/FC. =)
Nice soft colors, although a little too unsaturated (happy events such as birthdays should be bright and colorful, joyful, etc. but 30 is 30 I suppose, I'm facing that myself in a few months.)
I would have made the balloons a little more uniform in shaped, less distorted (balloons usually expand rather uniformely), and would have made the edges a little sharper and not as blurry (the numbers are True-type crisp, while the art isn't). The string could stand to be a little smaller and delicate, less harsh and coarse (violent and brute-full), perhaps some colored twisted ribbons would have been more appropriate, as some confetti in the background and all (as corny as it all is).
I hope I didn't go overboard on the crits. It's a nice pic, and a sweet gesture to a friend! |

Frost, yup, 'good old' Future Crew.
And I know what you mean ... but just wanted to make the balloons less 'balloony', i.e. it was a conscious choice to make them have an odd shape. Also about the letters being too crisp, that's true. Confetti on the bg would've been a nice touch, but didn't think about the picture much when I made it - just wanted to get it done (worked on it for an hour or something, maybe a bit more).
Well, making stuff twisted and 'cartoony' isn't my thing really - and that propably shows a bit too much. All in all I'm quite satisfied with the result.
And thanks for the comments guys.
Edit: typos as usual
