oh, and back on topic, I think that if they didn't know about your photoref overpaint at your contest, you are pretty immoral and a fraud. |

As much as I hate to admit it, I love these art-forensic threads. A guilty pleasure.
Someone should save these in a special section called 'Caught on Sijun' or something. |

Well I didn't want to post again to this thread as it probably wouldn't help anything, but it has gone on enough.
1. Snarf: I wasn't talking about you. I was talking to Joachim. So you don't need to have such a pissy attitude. You just displayed so much more immaturity with those cool insults (btw, I am suffering from PMS, you have no idea how hard it is to have female processes going on in a male's body ...I think I'm going to settle down for a good cry now.) than I did when I called Joachim god because he knows everything. who wouldn't want to be called god anyways.
2. Balistic: thanks for an actual critique. I've only been digitally painting for about 2 months. I hate real life painting. I'll try defining shapes better.
3. Novacaptain: Thank you also for the few tips you gave. Wouldn't you get a little defensive if people thought you were using a technique that is considered cheating when you know yourself that that's not what you did. For the record this piece was just a filler assignment for my HIGHSCHOOL art class. So its not for anything except a grade. It isn't used anywhere else. If it were I wouldn't have used the quick way for making a piece of work. You want to know exactly what I did? Fine. I used the mask tool, scaled it, then filled it in with black once it was on a new canvas. I then set up the grids to approximate where things went. I payed more attention to the actual placement of the clothes so they'd be sharper more flat-like. I then took a 6 color sample, three different hues, a dark and a light for each. I then expanded on that base to give me different colors in the face.
4. Vesuvius: None of my computer pieces I entered into the contest were created by this means. Anything I ever enter that can get me scholarships or other money is always original. If it was taken from a photograph, I took the photograph. If it was a painting over a line drawing, it was my drawing, if it were a 3d rendering, all the textures were mine, etc. I know the consequences of trying to pass off other's work for your own, so I don't do it.
So it may have been easier, but it wasn't an overpaint. Looking back, no I shouldn't have posted it here, but you guys shouldn't have made it into the witch hunt that it was, trying to make me confess to something I didn't do. By my silence I was presumed guilty, with my defensive nature, guilty again.
I am happy that I did give a few people some entertainment.

Ok... everyone quietly and calmly get off Darkliege's back and skip to the loo. He's not here boasting his mad skillz, he's just showing you what he made in 2 hrs. |

He certainly seems to know a lot about painting for such a "sham" artist. |
