Lower body good.. axe good.. tree stump good..
heads need work.. bigger butt needed.. the arms look different sizes (or is it supposed to be that way?) .. chest should be different.. shading.. collar bone.. go to google.com image search.. search for fat men.. and look at their upper body.. |

Critique- The heads and faces seem really flat compared to the rest of the body. The neck area is very ambiguous as to how two heads fit onto the shoulders. His left arm appears to be significantly longer than the right. Ultimately it needs more shading to define actual shapes, not just the idea of some muscle or belly. He needs more shading on that gut!
Comment- Draw a new picture, but first sketch out lots of different poses with exaggerated perspective. Make him fatter. Make him look taller by giving a low angle perspective. Make his axe bigger. Make it look more like a primitive stone axe or club. Why does he even have an axe if he can’t get his hands on something to wear other than a loincloth? How does having two heads affect his muscle structure? I’d like to see that. Exaggerate these things as far as they will go, so that when someone looks at the picture they say, “That guy looks mean! Is that an uprooted tree he’s using for a club?!?”
And be sure to give him a name. Ogre something isn’t very conducive to personality. |

I like the body most, the shading style is pretty cool. The facial anatomy (on both faces ) is a little wonky; for example the widow's peak on the hair doesn't go to the middle of the forehead. Also, the hands could use some work. But you definately get the big hulking org-ee feel you were looking for. Keep it up...

i wont be harsh, but i will be honest
there seems to be some perspective issues, on the upper body mostly. the shoulder on the left seems to far forward, looks almost dislocated. the faces are a bit odd, and you could probably clean those up.
the shading is looking pretty nice. i like cell style shading. the legs and feet are alo looking good, but they have more detail then anywhere else on his body i think.
take another stabe at the chest area, seems a bit flat. the ground work is really nice same with the axe. try to get more of a metal shine on the axe, or even rust.
a really good start, but not "there" yet. good stuff. |
