Are these from life ? I really like them. They look just like they were done by the old masters, the red face reminds me of the drawing of Lea (I think) by Michelangelo. |

yeah, they're all from life, except for the chubby dude, that's from a rembrandt painting at the met. oh , and the one in the bottom is me. |

wow Jr that s fantastic stuff
hey i was just wondering: do you use your fingers or some stuff to "smudge" (don't know another word..) the levels , or do you achieve that wonderful smooth look with hatching techniques only ?

toast: yes i smudged for the chubby dude and the self portrait in the bottom (i was 18 when i did that one). the first one i just pretty much crosshatched lightly.
